I have now purchased a filter straight off of Dyson and this one on Best Buy and both have a horrible chemical smell any time the fan/Dyson is used. So horrible. I now can’t even use my fan due to the awful smell and I hate to think what me and my toddler have been breathing in. I wish I hadn’t tossed my original filter when I got the new ones because although it was a little dirty at least it wouldn’t have smelled like chemicals in my bedroom.

But I have no way to judge whether the HEPA part of it works as it should. Maybe should give it four stars but it's not cheap.
