Don't let the price scare you away, it is/was worth every cent, and you can't think of this device as just a fan, its so much more. The quality of my breathing and my ability to regularly monitor the air quality remotely via the app is amazing. If you or anybody in your family suffer from allergies, asthma, or just want better air quality get one of these.

Overall good product, but one downside

Mostly, this updated version is better in general. I really like it heats up the room faster with plenty of air flow and the angle of the oscillation is much wider. However, the only downside of this machine is the app. The heater is not allowed turning on through the app!! It says the safety code is blah blah blah.... BUT I can still turn on the heater the previous version through the app! I usually set the schedule to turn on/off the heater, but I cannot do with this new machine.

Hardest place to keep warm or cool because of the space below. Remote is an added bonus from any place in the room. Easy of use. I was skeptical of it's dual ability, but I am so glad I made this purchase. Even helps to save money since I do not need to heat/cool the whole upstairs to get the climate just right for 1 room

It’s good for very small rooms

Not the case, but instead it blows very little air compared to a blades fan. My girlfriend wasn’t very impressed with the amount of airflow. I wasn’t happy either with it. I do like the app you can use with your phone and get extra functionality out of the fan. Other than that it’s just a very basic fan. I guess with it’s flirtation system it makes it okay but still not worth the 500 bucks price tag for it. I sorta did want to return it and just buy a cheap old blades fan again but this purchase was only good just for my credit increase. Who do I recommend this for? Those who have an AC in the house but need more air flow to move the air around. That’s it.

Posted .Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool purifying fans have been designed to deliver a powerful stream of cooling or heated, purified air from the front of the machine. Dyson Pure Hot + Cool units will also offer the option to divert air through the rear annular at a 45˚ angle, creating a more diffused airflow. Also, thanks to the 350 degree oscillation, Dyson Pure Hot + Cool purifying fans can be used to help project purified air around the whole room and may be used to deliver heated and purified air to every corner of the room. Airflow angles can also be customized using the remote control or Dyson Link app. You will also have the option of a Night mode which will use the machines quieter settings, reducing airflow speeds to range from 1 to 4. Night mode will also dim the display and the machine will run more quietly, making it ideal for use while sleeping. I'm also happy to share that you may customize Night mode settings in the Dyson Link App.

Settings 1-5 are very quiet and can hardly hear operation at all. 6-10 provide a good amount of noise. Typically keep this machine at a 7 going to sleep and it’s good for those who like some noise when trying to sleep. I was worried based on other reviews that the machine would not be loud enough for sleep time but it’s perfect. It’s also very convenient to use with the app as you can change the settings from home or away. Every once in awhile it will have a whistle but can usually be solved with simple cleaning. Very happy with this purchase!

Great Unit, but don't use a Humidifier with it.

The only major complaint against this unit is that during the winter do not attempt to use a humidifier in the room to 'moisten' the dry air it produces. The humidifier will permanently set off the PM10 numbers and run the unit full blast. The unit IS working as intended detecting the additional moisture droplets in the air. I inverted my setup and use the Dyson Humidity and Cool PH01 with a cheaper space heater without this issue.
