We are happy to hear that thus far in your use, you found that the HP04 provides excellent heat, while using in that mode. With regard to cooling off a room, especially in more humid conditions, our purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air. We would like to ensure that your vacuum is performing as intended. And trying to justify the very expensive price. Dyson make good products. Love their vacuums. And I own one of the older model of this air purifier. The one I have you can control the heat from the app. But this one you can’t due to regulations here in the US. Ok I get that. But then it defeats the purpose of using the app when u have to choose the heating option.

Posted .Hello Tessie, this is Kelly with Dyson. I can confirm that Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Air Purifiers are compliant with safety standard UL 1278, as required by the US Government. As a result, heating and temperature control outside of the cooling fan mode are not available via the Dyson Link app for heater models. We would in that case recommend using your machine's remote control in instances where you wish to utilize the heater functionality of our machine. Easy replacement at BB. It runs on auto and kicks on when needed. Use the heater on my screened in porch in fall.

Love the app and alexa integration. We'll probably pick up a second one the next time we find it on sale again.

Right now we are using it for heating and I was really hoping for a quicker heat response. I do like this but knowing Dyson so well hoping for a more heat.

For instance, you can’t raise and lower the heat thru the WiFi app. Not sure the unit is worth the additional money for the WiFi capability!

I bought this thinking it would be an improvement over the older pure hot cool link models. It was not. Well the filter may be better but if you cannot use it the way you need it, it just becomes a big waste of money. First it randomly makes an annoying hissing noise that the older ones never did. My kids cannot stand the noise either so I have to wait for them to fall asleep before I turn it on, manually. And that brings us to the second and more disappointing problem. They have removed the thermostat controls from the app for this model. I would never have bought this if I knew this functionality was removed. With the older models I could program scheduled temperature settings. For us it is hard to get out of bed when it is cold, so I would have the heat turn up when it's time to get out of bed. What is the point of having app controls if you cannot even do that.

With regard to controlling the heat through the app, we at Dyson take safety very seriously when developing new technology for our customers, and we want to ensure that safeguards are built into our products to minimize hazards and risk to our customers. Since the control of products over the internet is still new technology to regulators, in the US now, products contain more stringent requirements until a better understanding of all risks is understood. This is why the heating and temperature controls have been disabled via the Dyson Link app, at this time. We are certainly sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused for you. The heating, as well as all other functions can still be carried out via remote control.
