Like most Dyson products, this unit is amazing. It is a bladeless fan, a heater, and an over the top air purifier. First the fan. It puts out a very high flow of air when on high, but is completely variable down to just a slight breeze. Next, the heater. Very similar to the fan operation, except it heats. The temperature of course can be set and the heater turns off once it reaches the set temperature. One feature I find very intriguing is that when the heater first turns on, it doesn’t at first. It waits a few seconds until it is ready to put out warm air and then starts blowing air. In heater mode, it will never put out cool air while it warms up. The air purifier functions are incredible including many types of purification that I don’t even know what they mean. While no one in our house has allergies or respiratory issues, I could see where this could be extremely beneficial for anyone with either. It can be set to automatic mode in which it senses the air quality and turns itself on and off as well as adjusting the air flow level to clean the air and keep it clean. There is a very small screen on the fan where you can scroll through the different pollutants and see the current levels in the room. The same can be much easier viewed on the Dyson app (more on the app later). In all functions, oscillating is an option, but not your typical oscillation. You can choose 45, 90, 180, or 340 degrees for totally customizable oscillation. It can also be turned off completely. Also available is the option to reverse the airflow which means the air comes out through a slots that runs along the sides and top of the unit near the back. We use this mode when we don’t want the drafts from the forward flow while the unit is only purifying the air. It comes with a very small, very simple to use remote which controls all aspects of the unit. In fact the unit can only be controlled by the remote (or app) as the only control on the fan is the power button. As stated before, most will want to download the app to control the unit, and more so to view the numerous air quality displays. The app controls the unit the same as the remote with one very important exception. Due to some type of legal restriction, the heat mode cannot be controlled in the app. The only negative that I can come up with is the cost of the replacement filters. It uses two heppa filters and two charcoal filters. Directly from Dyson, the replacements of all are approximately $85. The unit will display the amount of life left in the filter. I have not had it long enough to gauge how often these will need replaced. Also note that the unit specifically says it is only meant to purify one room (not sure of the size). It is not a whole house purification system. I highly recommend this.

This helps a ton during allergy season. I highly recommend if you have bad allergies or pets.

Quiet, warm, it’s tall, but thin, easy to move around.

This air purifier has started making a deafening high pitched squealing within two weeks. Completely broken to the point where I can't have it in the room without making me up at night. The worst part is that Best Buy won't help fix or send a new unit. The answer I was give is that "I'm not in their elite program and only had a 14 day window form ordering." Unfortunate as I've spent thousands of dollars there over the years... not any more after this experience! They sent me to Dyson and Dyson sent me back to best buy. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive broken air purifier. I've always been a Best Buy fan but have learned it's probably better to buy direct from the manufacturer as they won't back up the products they sell anymore and have a ridiculously short return window (if you don't fork over major money to them each year). Also, google the high pitched squeal before buying this unit — I wish I had. Seems like it's luck of the draw.
