With regards to cooling, our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air.

It’s unusable. I tried resetting following the awful instruction from Dyson via chat (since I couldn’t get through on the phone and they never called back my call back number). I just don’t think the Dyson products are built to last. I’ve had Alen Air fresheners for years with no trouble; I thought I would give these a try and it turned into a $650 mistake.

Not worth the money, loud hissing sound.

Something with the impeller is a failed design. Somewhere in the air circuits it begins to resonate, creating a wheezing sound. For the price, you would think expect much higher quality on internal parts. The noise changes with the speed of the motor, so it’s either directly isolated to the motor, or an air circuit is congested. Meanwhile, my $64 No name air purifier has been running non-stop for about 8 months (except for filter changes), and makes no noise. On the other hand, the Dyson runs for an hour a day and starts hissing after 2-5 minutes. Unbelievable.

Wouldn't Sync with Wi-Fi

After several sessions with Dyson customer service over the course of a week and a half , installing the APP, un-installing the APP, resetting the cleaner to factory settings, and starting over about 5 different times, I just returned it.

This is definitely peculiar, as the HP04 is absolutely compatible with the Dyson Link App. We do recommend turning off your cellular connection during setup to ensure there isn't a "crossing" of signals, and if the diagnostics do not alleviate the issue, the HP04 is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty for manufacturer defects when purchased from an authorized retailer.

Can't Use the main Features

You can't use 5GHz wifi, and if your SSID has certain characters, you can't use it. As it stands now, unless you want to refresh your entire network, possibly losing network security, you are paying extra for a fancy filtered fan and heater.

The Dyson Pure Hot + Cool HP04 air purifiers, will feature two airflow modes, fan and heat modes and a backward airflow mode for cooling, heating and purifying both in winter and summer. These two modes, along with the airflow setting ranging from 1 - 10, and an adjustable oscillation angle from 45 degrees to 350 degrees, helps project purified air around the whole room.
