It does not have a compressor and is not an air conditioner. Deceptive advertising got me to buy this item and since it is not what they claim, I returned it without using it. Salesman was friendly and efficient but did not tell me it was not a real air conditioner.

Air conditioning units and the Dyson Air Multiplier™ fans/purifiers are two very different products that work in very different ways. An air conditioner refrigerates the air it supplies, allowing the air in the room to be made cooler than the ambient temperature outside. The Dyson Pure Cool Link purifier fan cools a person by moving clean air over and around them.

This is the only one with the filter, which is a selling point. Dysonlink is horrendously janky to connect to and struggles with my android. Works fine with my ipod, but doesnt take schedules well. Far easier to manually use with the remote.

I'm happy to inform you that Dyson Pure Cool Link is our tower purifying fan, which is actually the most powerful model we offer in terms of airflow that is output by the machine. Dyson purifying fans feature a 360 degree HEPA filter which is designed to draw in air from all around the machine. As a result, Dyson Pure Cool Link can be used to purify the air in a room of any size. The bigger the room, the longer the unit will essentially take to purify. The filter included in the machine has been engineered to automatically remove 99.97% of pollutants and allergens as small as 0.3 microns. This will include things like mold, bacteria, odors, pollen, pet dander and potentially harmful ultrafine particles. In regards to your machine not feeling strong, I'm happy to confirm that Dyson Pure Cool Link is engineered to operate with Dyson Air Multiplier technology. This helps provide a powerful stream of smooth air. You will also have an air flow control which will increase the speed of the air expelled from the machine. This can be adjusted with the remote control or also remotely via the Dyson Link app. You will have power settings ranging from 1-10.
