Dyson discontinued the air purifier fan and will not provide parts or filters. This should be a crime but Dyson does not care. Don't do business with dishonest companies like DYSON.

Primarily an air purifier -62 db at high speed

Little did I know that this is not designed primarily as a fan because it’s very loud on full speed. 62 decibels! Yes it is the lowest model and the newer models have gradually decreasing decibel levels. If you’re looking for a quiet fan for night time, this will wake you up. If you’re looking for an air purifier there are better options. My Levoit one definitely is much better. Levoit at first use with the fresh filter cleared the air noticeably so much better compared to this. Make your research before assuming all Dyson products are good. Some are not.

The noise from the fan will increase as you increase the airflow speeds. Your fan does have auto/night mode, which will decrease speed and sound in the nighttime hours. Not cool enough

We only have an a/c unit in the living room so my bedroom gets very hot. I understand that this is just a fan and not a substitute for a/c but based on the reviews I thought it would be more efficient at cooling my room down than it really was. It feels nice if you are directly in front of it, but being more than a few feet away it was hard to tell. My least favorite feature was that the remote has to be pointed DIRECTLY at the base of the tower, not even the middle of the fan, or it will not work.

Dyson Pure Cool features a HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold spores, bacteria and pet dander. The second layer in the filter contains activated carbon to capture household odors and volatile organic compounds like paint fumes. The machine also features a sleep timer, oscillation and 10 air speed settings.
Our Purifiers & fans do not have Freon, so they are not an air conditioner, but it does work better than standard fans. Dyson fans use Air Multiplier technology to create a powerful stream of uninterrupted airflow. Air is accelerated through an annular aperture, creating a high-velocity jet of air. This passes over an air foil-shaped ramp, channeling its direction and creating areas of low pressure behind and around the fan. The change in pressure forces surrounding air to be drawn into the airflow, resulting in a powerful stream of smooth cooling air.

Makes High Pitch Sounds

BOTH MACHINES have made HIGH PITCHED sounds. Ive done everything under the sun to get it to stop with Dyson support! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PURIFIER. For the price, you'd think it wouldnt have any problems, you're wrong! Ridiculous!

Misleading and not powerful enough

Well, its getting warmer and warmer in California and I decided I'm going to FINALLY splurge on this fan--and I returned it as soon as I could. It does not cool at all. It's a little misleading when it states "Pure Cool Tower, etc.." because it did not "cool" at all! I read the manuals and details on it and it just blows the air that is in the room around--that's it. Overall, I realized that as neat as this thing is that it claims to purify the air, I'd rather get an air purifier for MUCH cheaper and stick to our stand-up fan that works WAY better and stronger than this. I forgot to mention the power on these fans are not strong at all, even on their highest setting. We ended up having to make sure the AC was on to allow this fan to circulate the cool air around the room because--again--it does NOT cool the room. It ONLY circulates the air in the room ensuring the cold air-conditioned air cools down the entire room (it didn't do it for me). -_-

Dyson for a 300 dollar fan this is unacceptable.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this Dyson tower fan for a little over a year, and while it has its ups and downs, I'm ultimately unsatisfied with it. Its biggest advantages are the fact that it does, in fact, filter air, and the smartphone app is generally useful, with its own caveats. However, its performance as an air-moving fan is pathetic, and requires near full power to feel from more than a few feet away (getting extremely loud in the process.) The moving parts will chatter and squeal for hours if not on a perfectly level surface. The entire machine is built of cheap-feeling plastic. The replacement filters are pretty expensive compared to the competition, and seem to "go bad" faster than the (much more affordable) air purifier in another room of the house. All in all, if I could go back in time, I'd buy a standalone fan and air purifier, as they'd likely be better at their individual jobs than this hybrid unit, and cost much less in the process.

With the wildfires going crazy and the heat so bad plus the pandemic I never seem to leave the house and was hoping this would help. Returned it after 24 hours, wasn’t even as strong as my Lasko 1/3 the price. Dyson needs to work on execution now that they have the beauty down. Doesn’t cut it.

Not at all a powerful fan

After turning it on at level 10, I noticed it was pretty noisey and the air flow was extremely poor. As noted by others in the reviews, a cheap tower fan at level 1 would provide more airflow than this dyson at it’s highest level. It’s cool that it has an air purifier, but cheaper air purifiers have stronger air output than this. Not at all happy with my purchase, especially for the price I paid.
