Bought this item specifically for the purifier and not fan purpose. Although it looks neat and it does work. The quality of filtering could be better for price point considering it was placed in a >500sq ft space. The controller is another reason for the return. Horrible design, small, and just not effective.

Posted .Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I am sorry to read your review and learn how disappointed you are in your Dyson Pure Cool air purifier and fan. Dyson Pure Cool features a HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold spores, bacteria and pet dander. The second layer in the filter contains activated carbon to capture household odors and volatile organic compounds like paint fumes. The machine also features a sleep timer, oscillation and 10 air speed settings.

There simplicity and "average" look with no bells and whistles was great for the 20th century. Read it one more time. Was great for the 20th century. But we're in the roaring 20s now, time to get a fan from this century and move in with the times. The Dyson fan is not just fan that blows air and of course has a cool, modern look, it has a purifier and living in today's crazy times. You need a purifier. Costly, yes, but worth it, Of course!

The biggest issue is that after the first month of ownership it began to stop and display an "F3" error. The filter looked clean and it seemed resolved but started again a couple days later. This fan was so expensive and a big regret.
