The features on this fan/purifier are incredible – Wi-Fi connectivity, a great app with full remote control and complete history of air quality monitoring, even Siri Shortcuts support – but all of that ends up being for nought as I find the noisy whine this purifier makes to be unbearable. Even at the lowest speeds, it’s always making this whirring sound. I tried two different models and both had the same problem to varying extents. At high speeds, sounds like a miniature jet engine, or a vacuum. If you search around online for “Dyson cicada Reddit”, you’ll find tons of people going through endless warranty exchanges trying to resolve this problem, apparently caused by some kind of systemic defect in the motor causing this continuous cicada-like buzzing, whirring, whining noise. I just can’t stand it; I find it incredibly distracting even on the lowest speeds. I finally gave up, returned this, and got a Dreo Max Smart WiFi fan, which has a lot of similar features at a third of the price, and pushes twice as much air while being practically silent on all but the highest speeds. Sweet relief. I hope Dyson gets their motor issues worked out in future models, as I really wanted to love this product.

Better air quality in a large space after having it placed in the middle of my living Ron which is 800 sqft

This is an excellent air purifier/fan. It works as described and is quite soothing and very quiet

I got a brand new model in store and unfortunately, it didn't work out of the box. The air quality sensor was defective and it showed no readings. Since I live in Brooklyn, the only option to fix the problem is to physically drop it off at Dyson's service center in NJ. It took me 3 hours to get there. I was told by online customer representatives that it'd be fixed in a day, which of course didn't happen. After about 2 weeks of enduring allergies, I finally got a working model. Although Dyson is nice enough to resend me a working fan, I would never buy from them again knowing that when things break, it's a pain to get them fixed. The wind out of the fan was pretty weak even at max speed but it surely is noisy. I would recommend buying a <$100 air purifier + a cheap fan. Wouldn't look as nice but will get the job done and save you hundreds of bucks. If I have to be positive, it's all about the "smart" features built into the Dyson app. You can control the fan with the free Dyson app. The feature I use the most is customizing wind direction. It would be cool though, if the fan could rotate to follow people in the room so I don't need to re-focus the wind direction every time I move to a different spot. When the air quality sensor is working properly, the app displays useful real time and historical data of my room's air quality vs the air quality of the area of where I live. It also has auto on/off function so the fan will detect and filter bad air only when necessary, saving some power.

The magnetic remote top is nice and really like that fact it moves air so well without being loud at all.

Products works amazing. Gives off a lot of airflow and the air in my Appartment is so much cleaner as a result. I am no longer constantly congested due to allergies. I extremely recommend this product.

Great fan, quiet and efficient for optimal air freshening

Works great and cleans the air, which helps with my allergies. I got it for the smart home, wifi connections. Not really necessary but why not? The price though, ouch.

Good fan with nice airflow and plenty of functions. Only slight negative is that the fan cannot tilt up or down like the slightly shorter models but it is so tall that it is not much of an issue.
