Great fan, marred by a big limitation

What's not advertised, however, is that due to UL regulations, the mobile app can't adjust the heating function. This means you can't use the smart timer to schedule it turning on and off if you want it to warm the room, which is a big pain.

We at Dyson take safety very seriously when developing new technology for our customers, and we want to ensure that safeguards are built into our products to minimize hazards and risk to our customers. Since the control of products over the internet is still new technology to regulators, in the US now, products contain more stringent requirements until a better understanding of all risks is understood. This is why the heating and temperature controls have been disabled via the Dyson Link app, at this time. I can confirm that our heater+purifier machines are all compliant with safety standard UL 1278, as required by the US government.

Screeching Purifier - Dyson Never Helped Me

I purchased this VERY expensive Dyson purifier and within a couple of weeks it started making this loud, piercing/whistling/screeching noise. Lo and behold, there were several people complaining about this issue online, so it was a very well-known problem when I purchased it. Why then was it left on the shelves for suckers like me to purchase?! I immediately contacted Dyson and was told that the purifier was on back order and they would send me a replacement. I spent several months thereafter waiting and trying to get my replacement, repeatedly calling Dyson for help and received nothing but deception and insincere promises that my issue would be resolved. It never was. I never heard back from Dyson. No follow-ups. Nothing. I can only run this horrible fan for 10 minutes at most before the screeching and whistling starts. Save your money and go with a different brand. I have 3 Dyson vacuums and a humidifier, they all work great. What happened here? How could Dyson have failed this bad both on product quality and customer support? Never buying another Dyson product again if this is how they treat loyal customers.

Just Ok

Also it lags heavily when it changes from hot to cold setting.

Loud Screech

Bought a pair of these thinking it would be a sleek solution for a fan - trying to avoid the large bulky fans normally seen in the market. I own two Dyson vacuums so I was surprised at the poor performance received from this fan. At its core, it pushes air - but this fan has occasionally will output a screeching sound that sounds like a cicada. I thought I received a faulty unit till my 2nd one started doing the exact same thing. When I googled it, lo and behold multiple cases of people with the same issue. When I reached out for support, I was provided 5 different steps on things to turn off in the app and fan to try and reduce the noise. So now I have to limit the functionality of my fan to resolve the issue. Overall, very disappointed. I currently have 2 of these sitting in the corner unplugged taking up space.
