I live in the desert area, extremely dry air that really affects my sinuses. We leave the machine running over night in the bedroom and has really helped with sinus issues. We plan to purchase another for our downstairs area.

I was previously using the Dyson AM10 Humidifier and the Dyson HP07 Hot + Cool Air Purifier in my bedroom and realized that I really didn't have room for both. I also had another brand of air purifier that focused on eliminating formaldehyde, so I thought the Dyson PH04 would kill all three birds with one stone while saving me some space. First, the not-so-good. Yes, the PH04 has a built in humidifier, air purifier/fan and emphasizes the elimination of formaldehyde but the only gripe I really have with this new unit (other than the price $$$$) is that it is HUGE and quite heavy. It didn't end up really saving me much space, and I moved it to a new location in my bedroom since it didn't fit in the space I had for the previous Dyson purifier. In the end, it's not that big of an issue since I trust Dyson's technology and quality, which also helps me also rationalize the cost associated with this premium unit. The other thing I am missing is that is doesn't have the heating function my previous purifier had. If it had this feature, it would be the perfect one-does-all unit from Dyson. I imagine there is a good reason it's not included and hopefully not simply a marketing tactic. With that out of the way, I can focus on the excellent attributes that the PH04 has. It is obviously sleek, like all Dyson products, although I wish they'd steer away from white for a while. It's packed with tons of technology and it has a decent warranty. Setting up the PH04 was super simple and fast. The water tank and air filter are easy to access and replace, and of course, it has a remote control and can also be controlled via the Dyson mobile app. I typically use the app for all control since I keep my phone charging next to my bed at night. The app is surprisingly more useful that I thought it would have been. I really am happy to see that they figured out to have an auto clean cycle for the humidifier. That was a huge issue I had with the older unit and it took a lot of work to maintain it. Now you simply have to add the citric acid powder (several packets included) and run the deep clean cycle. It cleans out the internal parts and then you simply empty the water tank. Speaking of water tank, I like the larger capacity and I have to fill it less frequently. That obviously is subjective depending on the humidity level you set it to. There is also built-in evaporator module that never needs to be replaced. And of course, it has a built in UV-C light that keeps the water bacteria-free. I love that. The air purification is virtually identical to the previous Dyson unit I had. The main difference is that the PH04 has air blades that close when not in use. When turned off, the slits the air is projected from pivot 180 degrees into the unit and then when powered on, pivot out towards the room. They are also the only moving part of the unit and can be set to oscillate the air in multiple patterns. On my previous unit, the whole base would twist to accomplish this. It's pretty neat and I didnt even notice it the first time. The PH04 also has a built in screen like my previous unit which shows you all the various air quality levels and even some helpful user directions for other various functions, like air filter replacement. The HEPA 13 filters are easy to replace just like on my previous unit. The other distinctive feature that I wanted was the ability of the unit to remove formaldehyde. After doing a little research, I found that it's far more prevalent in our homes than I ever knew. The PH04 has a uniquely dedicated sensor just for that and the catalytic filter this unit has apparently traps and converts those harmful molecules into just CO2 and water. That's major peace of mind for me. Overall, If you have the money, the Dyson Purifier Humidity + Cool Formaldehyde is a pretty amazing unit that almost does-it-all. Add the heating function and pack it into a smaller footprint and Dyson has a home run. Again, it's big and I would recommend viewing one in person to get an idea of just how substantial it is before purchasing. If not, you may be surprised.

Perfect degree of moisture while cleaning the air. What more could you ask for. Filling the water container is easy and the built in handle makes carrying it to the unit easy. It is a little heavy so moving it to other rooms is not easy. It cleans the open space including the living room, dining room and kitchen.

This product has helped me fight allergies and breathe better.

It’s truly worth every penny! I was so surprised when it catches even the smallest particles. I blew out the candle while the Dyson was on auto purify, instantly got a notification that there was too many particles in the air and fan sped up to 10 on auto!
