I did not grow up on this movie, I only heard about how awesome it was in retrospect. While elements do not age well, the film still really holds up as a tale of a outcast boy befriending an outcast alien. In the world we live in, this film could still have a poignant thing to say.

Renewed interest in this movie after a recent visit to Universal Studios. 2-disc version is a great addition to my collection

This is an all time classic...for people of all ages. Been watching it since I was a kid and still love it as much as I did then. Amazing!!

Had to pick up this classic ... glad they release it on Blu-ray and digital HD so I can watch via iTunes when I'm on the go.

This is Real 4K meaning the original was shot in 35/70mm and scanned directly to 4K. Well worth it for a classic.

My grandchildren, 4,5,5, really enjoyed the movie and made me remember how worried I was about ET dying when he was sick.

I am always reluctant to buying older movies on new formats. They are usually not good. This one was done well.
