Purchased this online with cheapest shipping available and got it in 2 days. I was so happy. It holds tons of music. And is easy to use. This is a gift for a 3 year old that loves music. Perfect size for her and the cheap price makes it great that if she breaks it I'm not out a lot of money like your pricer ones. I've already put music on it and tested it and love it.

I recently purchased this MP3 and it doesn't do what it is programed to do, every time you turn it off and back on it reverts back to one song and one song only, the battery doesn't last more than 2 hours and it constantly turns itself off, when you turn it off and on it will work for another 1/2 hour, it's junk.

The instructions are inadequate. I have had other MP3 players, but there is nothing intuitive on how to use the player. Difficult to navigate the controls since there are no marking on the buttons. The screen writing is so small it is hard to see. Cannot read the screen with any sunlight.

Battery Life Terrible

I bought one of these in June 2013. The documentation says the player should operate for six hours on an overnight battery charge. The first time I only got three and a half hours. I got the same result the next two times. I returned it to the retailer. Then I made a mistake. The salesman told me that I had purchased the last one of an obsolete model. He convinced me to pay an additional amount and get their newest version.
You can tell the two models apart by the appearance of the interface. The old one was busy and the battery meter only showed four levels: full, 90%, 10%, and empty. It shows empty with three minutes left, not very useful. The new model has a less cluttered interface and a battery meter that shows a continuous decline as you use it.
The first few times I charged the new player I got over four hours of play time per charge. That's not six, but I was willing to accept it. I lost track of time, and when I realized I was getting less than three hours of play time per charge, I could no longer take it back to the retailer. I was still well within the one-year manufacturer's warranty, so I reached out to Machspeed.
Each time I tried, they sent me an e-mail saying my problem had been resolved. No it hadn't! I finally went back to the retailer and begged them to intercede with Machspeed on my behalf. It even took their sales manager two tries before they finally sent me a return merchandise authorization form.
They did not pay for the return postage. The warranty documentation said that if they were going to replace the player they would ship in 2-3 days. If they were going to repair it, turnaround would be two weeks. I waited three. Nothing! I asked where was my replacement. They told me they were very busy and would ship in five days. Again, no result. The third time they did ship.
They sent me the obsolete model! The first 10 times I charged the battery I got an average of five hours playtime. Once, and only once, I got six. It was downhill from there. The next 10 charges gave me a four and a half hours. The battery life rapidly deteriorated to an average of three to three and a half hours. It continued going down. I stopped keeping track after the battery only gave me two hours of life per charge. The last time I charged it I got only 45 minutes after an overnight charge. I got a total of around 500 hours out of this device before it became useless. A competitor's product has given me >8000 hours and still gives me over 7 hours of battery life per charge.
Buyer beware!
Make sure you know the warranty offered by your local retailer. If you don't get six hours of battery life, return it. If you accept a replacement, make sure you get documentation that says the warranty period starts over again. If you give this as a gift, warn the recipient of this issue. Don't buy it for a gift if the retailer's warranty will expire without giving your recipient sufficient time to test the product.
Just an odd quirk that should disturb users in the 21st century. If you store your music in separate folders, you have to learn an obsolete DOS convention from the 1980s to navigate the folder menu. One period means this folder. Two periods means go one level up.

Not for audiobooks, poor quality

I bought this to listen to audiobooks on in the car. Boy was that a bad idea. I should preface this with the fact that I typically use my iPod Classic (which I love), but I had been traveling a lot and thought that it would be easier to put my audiobook on a small player and just leave it in my car. I am not stupid by any means and am a 20-something, so usually decent at working things like this, but I am not by any means particularly tech savvy. I can do everything that I need to do, but nothing fancy. I did manage to get an audiobook on here at one point, but all I could get the stupid thing to play was whatever mp3s it comes with on it (which I could not remove). The screen is very small and very difficult to read. It might as well not have one. The quality of this item is incredibly poor. The only way it might work for someone is if they just want to load a jumble of songs on it and let it play. It is small and lightweight. That and being cheap are the only things it has going for it. I threw mine in the trash.

I did not notice there was not a radio - one reason i purchased it. FM was on every other one for vendor. This is NOT for anyone with poor eyesight - the screen is too small with poor resolution.

Awful Purchase

I bought this for my 10 year old...I didn't need anything fancy or grand for her to use. She has a dance routine and I only needed to put 6 songs on it. This device was the biggest waste of money. I should've just taken the money and put it towards something nicer. The buttons don't work. The screen doesn't work. It won't hold a charge and so it stops working after about 30 minutes. Had she not been so excited to get it and ripped the packaging to shreds, I would've returned it. Save your money and buy something better.

Don't waste your money. When I buy my next mp3 player it will be a Phillips go gear vibe. I will take a hammer to the eclipse I own and smash it to pieces. Eclipse is junk.
