This icemaker is a must have for large households or for those who entertain regularly! It makes perfect nugget ice quickly and keeps it frozen for a long time so that you always have ice available.
Design –
The Ecozy Ice Maker looks and feels high-end. The stainless steel finish and sleek design ensures that this ice machine will look great in your kitchen. The thoughtful design includes a second door hinge kit to allow the door to open to the right or left depending on where you install it.
Functionality –
This machine is a workhorse! In my testing I found that under normal conditions this machine will regularly and consistently produce ~2.5lbs of ice per hour. The unit holds about 26lbs of ice and will keep it frozen overnight with minimal loss. I experienced maybe 1lb of melt overnight when the ice machine was mostly full.
This machine is also very quiet but does produce some heat when the compressor is running. The ability to remove the front of the water tank for thorough cleaning is also a very nice touch. Additionally, the automatic cleaning function is very helpful and give you peace of mind that your ice machine is clean.
Installation –
Installation is simple if you have some basic tools and plumbing knowledge. To install this correctly as per the manufacturer’s instructions, you will need a floor drain. That being said, with some ingenuity you could set up either a drain pan/bucket or drain pump to empty this into a sink or other type of drain.
You can use the included water tube and adapter to attach the water supply to a standard under-sink water valve. Alternatively, you can purchase a ~$15 adapter that will allow you to add a second line to an existing water valve so that you can share it with your sink. You will also need a standard 120v 15amp outlet for this unit.
Bottom Line –
If you have a need for a consistent supply of nugget ice, look no further. You are definitely getting what you pay for, and this machine will not disappoint. You will enjoy the ease of use and not having to worry about refilling the water tank!
