This is a pretty good feature. The story is not self containing, meaning if you picked just this up by itself, you would understand whats going on. Pick up or watch the East of Eden complete series and it sets up this feature's storyline. This movie picks up where the series leaves off. For me, I first watched the complete series which was pretty good in itself. Then I noticed this movie came out and picked it up. I don't want to give away and spoil it for you. Let me just tell you, I wasn't disappointed! I got the Bluray/DVD combo pack and for some reason they made the case longer than other bluray cases. It's just weird to see my shelf where all the movies are leveled then this case just sticks out. I'm not knocking the movie, just the packaging. Anyways I recommend this only if you watched the series first (so you won't get lost)...

The movie is much better than the TV series. A lot of questions get answered. A must see.
