It is installed and working

The store told me I had to use theirs. I feel like the guy did not want to go under the house to properly install the kit. I had a new dryer cord that could not be used because it was out of the package, the installer told me my warranty would be void if I did not use the BB cord. Why was the dryer vent OK but the cord was not?
