I have been filling in my Blu-Ray collection with movies I realized I did not own. Some I realize were better in the fantasy of my memory than in reality. This held up well to the initial reaction when it first came out. The story is clever and well scripted and the right balance of child-like innocence and grown-up understanding. It is interesting to watch an early effort by this director that has gone on to fill in a varied resume of films from special effect laden outings (Ironman) to simply low key gems (Chef). You can see the use of early special effects and stop-motion with clever scaling of elves to full size humans and animated storybook characters. This is one of the better films that matched Will Ferrell's talents and it was a pleasure to see the vintage Bob Newhart comic sense of timing when he seldom was on the big screen. The film is dripping with charm throughout from the very first credits to the decorations created by Elf. Great family entertainment that may not make a parent or grandparent cringe if you appreciated films like those created by National Lampoon and others.

Wil Farrell is great as a human, raised as an elf. A baby crawls into Santa's gift bag and ends up at the North Pole in Santa's workshop. Raised by papa elf, Bob Newhart, he knows he's different from the other elfs. Mainly, at least twice the size. Santa lets him know what he really is and where he came from. Buddy, the elf, goes out to find his true parents. It's great fun for all ages.

Love this movie and finally added it to my collection when it was on sale. The disc itself is ok with few bonus materials and not the greatest transfer. If you find a great price on another set, I'd look elsewhere but if you don't care about bonus materials or any extras this disc will work!

If you haven't seen this classic Christmas comedy about an elf who sets out to find his real father, you're missing out. This package is ok, the CD it comes with is just a sampler which is a bit puzzling. Good steel case though, so that's a nice collectors item.

Every Christmas I love to watch this movie. It’s a Christmas classic now. It is funny and entertaining and something that I can watch with my kids where everyone enjoys it. I only wish that I could have bought it with a digital movie as well.

Elf if one of my favorite Christmas movies. Will Farrell is hilarious and the story line is fun. I've seen it so many times that I wore my old DVD out. Thankfully, I was able to find it on Blu-Ray at Best Buy.

Jon Faverau's direction with Will Farrell's like able performance is what makes this Christmas film so enjoyable every year and it's always fun and upbeat with a fun story.

This movie has a lot of excitement for Christmas. Some of the actions may be too extreme for what some parents want their children to be witness to, but it is a fun movie

I’m not a Will Ferrel fan at all but I do like Elf. It’s a good Christmas comedy. The steelbook is sweet too, and it’s cheap.

This is one of the only movies I like Will Ferrel in. Very enjoyable movie. Picture and audio quality was not to horrible

Elf is a classic Christmas film that will continue to be viewed by future generations during Christmas time.

This movie is hilarious. The whole family loves it. It does have some inappropriate things for younger children though.
