My camlink does exactly what the box says. Takes my camera's hdmi output and converts it to a signal i can use for a cleaner visual experience instead of the traditionally low res webcam or built in solutions. I can easily make my Sony a6000 or my Canon M50 MK2 my video source for livestreams or podcasts. Doesnt work with Windows hello tho

Definitely needed easy to use for streams. Pricey but needed.

Worked exactly as described. I had no experience with it and it was plug and play. Made video chatting with my sony a7iii dummy proof.

So ive had this for about 2 weeks and im debating returning it because it works but it has alot of connection issues. Ive been having to disconnect the Cam Link 2 to 3 times from my PC in order to get video footage to show up on my PC weather i use the Cam Link Software or, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or my Video editing software. Im using a Sony ZV-E10 with a smallrig micro HDMI to full size HDMI adapter with a cage and it works 100% with my tv and even with my Yolobox Pro so its definitely bot the adapter or cable. I have the resolution set to 4K 30Fps and looks wonderful when you convert that to 1080P 60fps under Zoom and Microsoft Teams as that is the highest resolution you can get on those two platforms for meetings. Thankfully i still have the box so i may just return it and get El Gato's 4K 60fps Webcam instead since the frame rate will look smother in my meetings and video recordings from 4k 60fps down scaled to 1080P 60fps. So if you are ok with having to keep reconnecting your cam link to your USB Port then go for it but for me as i type this review, im leaning towards returning it and spending $200.00 more on the 4K60FPS webcam they have to offer.

I heard about this device and then I researched it. Come to find out it was in high demand online and the price was being deeply gouged. It was at the height of the onset of the Pandemic here in the United States and I really considered taking the plunge since I was in desperate need. I kept looking at Best Buy’s website only to find it “OUT OF STOCK”. I am glad I was persistent I soon picked it up curbside. Just plug and broadcast. Thank you for a job well done. I have been coming back for my tech needs. AAA+

I have multiple elgato products so I knew this one would be amazing, and it is, Perfect for hooking up my Canon m200 to my PC.

I’m sure there are tons of different devices used to get a clean feed from a digitalcanera to another device. Bur this one has always been the most consistent in terms of performance. I’ve used this with various canrra brands and have never ran into any issues whatsoever. Have done livestreams lasting 5+ hours and not a single drop out or hiccup

In the early days of the pandemic when everyone was scrambling to up their working-from-home game. This was impossible to get. This is a great dongle that can make your clean outputting and superior-image-quality having camera into your webcam. I tried a few cheap knock offs but they get hot and often drop frames or have delays with video and audio. This thing just works and you forget it's there. It's definitely pricey for what it is, but it's worth if you are investing in your work from home office.

This device has been working great! We are using it predominantly on a Sony a5100 and have had zero issues. I was a bit concerned at first because the device was warm to the touch after using it for less than a 30 minutes. It never got hot, but warmer than I would've liked. I bought my first camlink 4K almost a year ago and that one is still going strong after hours of use. I've owned this second one for almost 3 months and it's still working fine so I don't believe the temperature is a major issue for this product.

I picked up this adapter so I could use my Sony camera with OBS at better resolution then with just the USB cable and WebCam mode. Works perfectly. Image quality is great

Made my work zoom calls easier when using my mirrorless camera, also works well for streaming (if on PC).

Makes it easy to make your camera into a webcam or to record directly onto your computer. It does get hot especially when connecting 4K input/output but I haven't had any issues running it for several hours.

This capture cars is amazing clear and crisp video easy to set up just plug and play I love it and definitely recommend it.

This is a short review because it functions as expected. It only comes with the unit itself though, more than likely you will still need a mini hdmi to full sized hdmi cord. Kind of a shame they didn't include one in the box. Last but not least this converter is expensive, double or triple check to see if your camera's manufacturer has drivers that can do what this does over usb. Also, if you are using a canon camera, check the canon website to see if your camera can be used with their webcam utility software. If your camera is compatible with it, do not buy this product.

Good quality, easy user interface, would definitely reccoomend.

This connector is designed to get people on live streams by connecting an external camera or other device, like a video switcher, to a computer and thus online. Works fine, no problems. It connects HDMI to a USB input. If you don't have an external camera with a HDMI output, you don't need this connector. Otherwise, it is vital to any production where you are feeding your signal through a computer. I bought my first one in early March, 2020, before the big rush of live streaming and Zooming got underway.

Easy to set up and works as intended. Elgato has made using all their products very simple and the quality is top notch.

Converted hdmi 4k signal out of Panasonic Lumix GH5 into OBS for streaming to YouTube as expected. Simple to use, literally plug and play!
