Works great for streaming
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This worked great for what I needed it to do. I needed a way to transmit from my camera's HMDI-Out to my laptop so I could stream my wedding ceremony through YouTube. It worked flawlessly. The stream didn't drop at any point and there were no quality issues. I used OBS software to stream the video to YouTube. It is a little pricey for what it does, but I can't deny how well it worked.

Another great elgato product
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another elgato product that does not disappoint. I hooked this up with the cable that DOES not come included if you don’t have it depending on your camera..I have a A7 IV so yeah. This is perfect. Crystal clear picture especially on OBS and easy to use.

Best thing for a gopro 7 and under or a Dslr cam!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has a lot to do with the law of diminishing returns. A 50$ but now 100$ is ok and usable. The next step is a 200$ web cam and the quality is shot up by 35%. The next step is this cam link with an old gopro for about 2-300$ with the link and you get 100% improvement. The cam link is great because it is plug and play. You can get some gopros to work with paid and free software but its unintuitive, clunky and requires setup every time. You can use your phone but then your phone is tied up as the webcam and they its back to being on dial up internet lol. The cam link also lets you use DSLR and other high end cameras. This is where it falls off though. DSLR are about 500 to start then you need the lens for another 3-500. The quality bump is about 10-15% for 800-1000 dollars. Is the 700$ worth the 10% gain? If you already own a dslr or better camera, or can get one on the cheap this is a no brainer just buy the Cam Link. So really the cam link is the sweet spot for the most bang for the buck when paired with a gopro, plug and play, and no IT experience required.

4k/30 works great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased several of these for a livestream -- all worked beautifully. We were filming and saving in 4k/30 and streaming at 1080p. These kept up just fine and worked as expected.

Livestreaming with Sony A7IV to Macbook (eCamm)
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it works perfectly for me - connected it to the Sony A7IV to my Macbook Pro M2 and received 4K30 for video capture on ecamm - no problems yet! Plug and play, the mac found it easily enough and ecamm recognized it for quick streaming.

Good device, 4K CPU monster
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good device and functions as advertised. Best part is it is 100% plug and play. I use Streamlabs OBS as well as standard OBS and it recognizes the cam link input automatically. A little configuration is required, but that’s only for your settings and filters. Does not play well with filter applications like Nvidia Broadcast software (only applicable if using Rtx 2060 and up) but if you’re just looking for a cam through, this is an affordable option to get the job done.

Small and Works
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Able to connect a Sony a7 III with no issues. It does get warm if left plugged in, even when not in use. So I have started to remove when not in use. Not sure if the heat will reduce performance, but I do it as a preventative measure. The software was easy to use and had no issues. I got it on sale so would defiantly recommend if you can get on sale.

Works for me
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonderful! It works just as advertised! It’s plug and play. I was able to plug my Sony A6100 in and use it as a webcam with awesome audio from the camera. It does drain the battery so you will want to have extra batteries for your camera but it doesn’t drain fast so you can use it for alarm 2 hours. Works for me!

Its works but can squish your output video
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Product! Works as advertised. We used it to send our video out to facebook livestream. Just plug an play and facebook automatically sees our video switcher (Roland V-1HD+) as a webcam ready to use for livestreaming or zoom calls using DLSR or higher resolution cameras. Leaving 4 stars on this as I found out that there's a non 4k version that's actually cheaper. (wish i knew that ahead). We don't need any higher than 1080p fro streaming.

Works like a charm!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this device so that my church could use our new Canon 4k camcorder as a webcam for Zoom videos. We had been using a cheap no-name HDMI-USB dongle purchased online with a digital SLR, which worked fine but it would not work with the new camcorder for some reason. Elgato is a more established brand and more expensive, but it has proven to be worth it. It works with the 4k camcorder without a hiccup, just plug and play! One note, I initially noticed a problem where the signal from the camcorder would freeze up during the Zoom conference - the video would freeze and audio would stop in the Zoom app, although the camcorder itself would still be functioning fine. After some research on the Elgato website, I tried the simple fix of using a different USB outlet on the laptop and the problem went away! You really need a USB 3.0 outlet for this due to the bandwidth requirements, but if you have problems with freezing try switching to a different USB 3.0 outlet (apparently not all USB outlets are created equal).
