I chose this over the lower cost HDMI camera adapters for a few reasons. First is that the Cam Link 4K's latency is very low, with little delay. This is easily shown by clapping your hands while comparing this and the lower-cost adapters. With this Elgato unit, clap your hands and the clap sounds are nicely in synch. The second reason is to obtain the smoothness that a 60-frame rate provides. Third, the computer easily recognizes this as a web cam thanks to its Universal Video Class driver.

I used this to connect my Sony Camcorder into my MacBook Pro to record the video live. It worked great. It was pretty simple and worked as told. How ever I did think it was a little expensive for what it did.

This device lets you connect many different kinds of cameras and camcorders to your computer, allowing them to function as a "webcam" for streaming, social media, skype, etc. While you DO need to verify your camera is compatible, if it is, the detail and capabilities of most any camera you plug in to this will beat up on your Logitech c922, your BRIO, etc. I've had no issues with the device, using it with a Sony mirrorless camera I own, and it works great. It also works with most GoPro models... so that's pretty fun if you have one of those lying around. The camera you have WILL need an HDMI out cable (sometimes that means Mini-hdmi to hdmi if it has a smaller HDMI port).

Love this one! The best to get the max quality out of your camera when going live on social medias, the video quality results are amazing and smooth so your audience has the best experience on your contents

The Cam Link 4K is extremely easy to use and the video quality is great, considering the quality of the source material. I have used it for VHS tapes as well as mini DV.

It is pretty expensive for what it is but Elgato makes the best so you know it will work. There are cheaper alternatives out there if this is too pricey but it hasnt failed on me and pushes out some pretty clean picture but lets get real. it my camera doing the work

The plastic is flimsy and the device itself is way too large and bulbous to fit in my USB slots when anything else is plugged in. Functionality is OK but be aware you'll want to be savvy with Audio/video settings if you're working with OBS or something. Also, there's no native software to just *view* the video source, which feels... Dumb? I'm also dealing with an issue where the Audio continues to lag behind the video, and there seems to be no solution. Tested with: Switch PS4 OXB

Works great, streaming 4K, just what I needed instead of other more expensive complicated streaming methods with my 4K video camera.

Works great with my 16 inch MBP. I use this in conjunction with a Sony A6100 with a Sigma 16mm f/1.4 lens. Works flawlessly on applications like Zoom and Stream Yard!

Easy to use and got the job done. Connected to a Sony Mirrorless camera for Zoom meetings and the quality is superb. Big difference.

Very simple to set up and use with your DSLR camera with a microphone. Didn't need to install any special software to work with Zoom.

It does what it was designed to do!!! Used it to connect my Sony A7ii Mirrorless camera for livestreams and works flawlessly.

The Elgato Cam Link 4K is the go-to device for HDMI camera capture, because of it's availability, price and ease-of-use. Unfortunately it also has very spotty behavior that leads to dropped frames, having to unplug / replug the unit to get video, and sometimes totally freezing the output video stream. I was able to resolve some of my issues by replacing the device (so, defective? or counterfeit? who knows), but it still periodically got unhappy. I think part of the issue may be that the device gets extremely hot during prolonged use (30+ minutes). Ultimately I replaced it with a much more expensive but more reliable device from another brand.

This product change the game for my streaming. It connected to my studio switcher and camera with ease. I recommend it to anyone

Bought this cam link for my wife and she connected her Sony A5100 camera to it and was able to simplify the process and update the quality of her gaming.

This makes converting a camera feed to your computer soooo easy. I've used it for all kinds of cameras on all kinds of computers and it works every time. It's perfect.

Works as it should. Have it connected to a nikon DSLR that j already had laying around and now i have the best webcam.

Literally just a plug in play, really simple to use and compatible with my sony a6000 and is also compatible with a lot of cameras which is a plus. Great product

Completely works as advertised on the Mac. Plug it in and it just works...my Canon camcorder immediately became a camera option in Zoom...highly recommended!!!
