can't record tv - only works for video games

Excellent capture card for HD gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this card primarily for streaming Super Smash Bros for Wii U on Twitch, and saving gameplay captures. Everything you need comes in the box, including an HDMI cable, which is fantastic. The software needs to be downloaded and installed from the Elgato website, but this is fast and simple. Setting everything up was a breeze. For streaming, I'm usually able to do a 480p stream in 30 fps with no issues. I could probably do better if my ISP provided a better upload speed, so that's really no fault with the hardware. For capturing videos, it really shines. It's able to capture crisp 1080p videos in 60 fps. My uploads all look amazing! This is a bit of an investment, but a MUST have for any Smash 4 streamer. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Good video capture device
