useless product
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was planning to use this device to stream on PS5 Pro gameplay. It didn't work as advertised 1. It brings down the resolution on my 4k TV to 1080p, so you can't play at 4k and stream at 1080p it has to be all 1080 which is very weird. 2. The device does not capture sound, only image. The stream is basically useless without the game sound Overall it is useless spent ~$150, gonna return it

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The capture device would only flash a red light. It failed to pass through the video to the TV or send the video to my Gaming PC. I tried many sources of video. PS5, PS4, PS3, XBOX Series X, Blu-Ray Player, but the capture card, wouldn't work. I bought a different capture card to test everything and the 2nd capture card worked perfectly with any video source I provided. I suspect the Elgato HD60 was defective from the start. Things like this happen, but I will not buy another capture from Elgato, period. There are less expensive capture cards on the market that work perfectly.

Disappointed in El Gato's new capture card
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this with optimism because I was hoping to upgrade my streaming gear. I am currently running the El Gato HD60 S. The 60 S is nowhere near as powerful as the 60 X as far as picture quality. I understand purchased the first wave of the 60 X so I was slightly nervous expecting the product to be buggy. I was correct. While streaming through the OBS software sometimes the top edge of the capture would be choppy. Like a damaged VHS tape when the film was corrupted. Also, I had to frequently restart my laptop because I would receive a black screen through OBS. The product didn't even work with its own capture software. It would be a total black screen through the El Gato software as well. Lastly, the audio was completely out of sync when I was streaming and recording my gaming. My mic audio would be exact but my chat audio would be 3-5 seconds late rendering the conversations captured confusing and useless. I was sorely disappointed with this new line of product and would recommend others to hold off from purchasing this product until their second corrected wave of capture cards are released.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The item itself is fantastic. The support and accompanying software is a horrible experience. If the software worked id have no problem recommending elgato but every product ive bought from them has either been defective or the software doesnt work

A fantastic upgrade over the previous version
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GOOD - VRR passthrough - Support for 1440 resolution capture and passthrough - Main inputs finally on the back instead of at both ends - Very low latency - UVC plug-n-play BAD - No audio mixing between the two inputs - No G-Sync compatibility - Would have been nice to have a C-to-C cable in the box as well IN DETAIL The TLDR for the HD60 X is how it compares to the older HD60 S+. The biggest upgrade of course is the X allows variable refresh rate passthrough to your display. The other big difference is the X allows capture of 1440 resolutions ( up to 1440p60 ) whereas the S+ is limited to 1080 and 4K resolution capture only. Neither model can capture 4Kp60, but that's a limit of the USB 3.0 interface so there's not much you can do about that. Finally, the exterior has changed so that the HDMI and USB ports are all on the back. Maybe that's big for you, maybe the side ports on the S+ work fine for you as is. Along with the capture device in the box is a rather thick HDMI cable and 2 meter USB-A to USB-C cable. I would really have liked to see a C-to-C cable also in the box since that is more commonly becoming available on laptops. The rest is basically the same as the S+. It's a UVC device, so no specific device drivers are needed. Capture rates are 4Kp30, 1080p60, 1080p30, and 720p60. It will passthrough HDR up to 4Kp60, record HDR up to 1080p60, and can do real-time HDR-to-SDR tonemapping so you can play in HDR on your display, but only record in SDR. The HD60 X also has a 3.5mm audio input jack for additional audio feeds. So, what are the downsides? Like its precdecessors, the HD60 X won't let you use both audio inputs at once ( HDMI and analog 3.5mm front jack ). It has to be one or the other. And though this finally has support for 1440 resolutions, it can only capture 1440 in NV12 color mode, not YUYV. Granted, a lot of people probably don't know or don't care about the difference between 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 so perhaps that doesn't matter to you. I also saw some weird behavior in getting the VRR to work for both my Xbox One X and AMD Radeon computer. I did finally get it going after tweaking a few things and changing the device and display EDID around. And this is probably something that will be made easier as software and firmware is updated. Note that VRR passthrough does not work with G-Sync; only FreeSync and HDMI VESA VRR. So while you can use VRR with your Xbox ( and PS5 when Sony adds VRR ), it won't work with your Nvidia computer and G-Sync monitor. So, is this something I recommend? If you really must have the VRR support, then this is one of the few products avaialble that does it. Also some owners of older Elgato capture cards may want that 1440 support and pay to upgrade their gear ( note their are competing capture products that also support 1440 capture/passthrough, if you don't want to stay in the elgato ecosystem ). If those features aren't important to you, the HD60 S+ will likely be a cheaper option, though depending on how much cheaper, you still might want to opt for the X to get the newer and better performing capture device.

Posted .Hi,
The HD60 X has a lag-free passthrough for resolutions up to 2160p60, 1440p120, 1080p240, Variable Refresh Rate(VRR), High Dynamic Range (HDR). It should not be limiting your TV's display. Elgato, more like basura
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This card is a headache. I only got it to work a handful of times and i keep getting no video signal but audio works. I get the video to pass through to the big TV but it does not show up on my computer monitor. I tried to repair it using elgato launcher but it still does not work. check the device and the computer says it works properly. I'm not sure what the problem is but its too much of a headache. i wish the software could detect the compatibility issues instead of wasting my time with some vague flashing that can mean multiple things.

Avoid frustration-this needs a better driver.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well enough. But do yourself a favor and download a better driver. The one that this came with was very minimal. Couldnt get the sound to come thru in the playback videos. Once we got OBS, or another of your choice, everything worked perfectly.

The recorded output is near lossless!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very easy way to stream and/or record your content from your PC, Xbox, or Playstation. I really appreciate that all cables needed to setup are included. In addition to the HD60X unit you get an HDMI cable and a USB C cable to power it. Not a given these days. Setup is so easy. You can be setup and going in minutes. It's worth mentioning this being a Elgato product, this unit also is compatible with your Stream Deck. Very smooth and clear video recording and no loss in graphics that I noticed. I tested this with my Xbox console and gaming laptop. I would imagine that a Playstation would fare similarly. The unit itself is well made. The black shell is tough enough to survive staying in my tech backpack and coming out unscratched. I will be using this unit over all my other streaming boxes. If you're looking for a low-profile and powerful stream box, this one foots the bill for sure.

Don't work with Mac M1s and Elgato won't fix it
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product states that it works with Mac, however it does not support Mac M1's. The Elgato support page states that over half of the recording software and apps thet offer don't work with M1s and state they won't be upgraded. They state that the capture card should work "out of the box" with OBS Studio and Quicktime but both will only show a black screen. Don't buy this product or anything from Elgato. They are advertising support and features they can't deliver.

Too many issues
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked fine at first but now anytime I plug it into my monitor from the outport I get NO SIGNAL but if I unplug it I can see what I'm trying to play but only on the 4k capture software. As someone who pours alot of money into elgato products this is absolutely pretty infuriating because the customer support is pretty bad too.
