I purchased this to record gameplay from my video game consoles, as well as a handheld gaming PC. I was intending to do my streaming from a secondary laptop with an i7 processor (but no dedicated video card). I had a few issues with sound over HDMI, since I was using an external monitor that did not have speakers. I tried everything including running the sound out of an audio jack on my console, then feeding it into the audio in on the HD60X, but that sounded full of static, even after installing an in-line filter. I searched online to find many people in my position. I did open a support ticket, and got really prompt responses, but ended up resolving the problem of audio through HDMI by just switching to a monitor that did have audio out. This still didn't solve my static issue. After hours of swapping cables, trying different sampling rates, and everything else I could think of, I was about to give up and return everything when I decided to try the HD60X with my gaming PC instead of the laptop. Everything worked fine, and I had zero issues. I guess my laptop wasn't powerful enough to capture everything from the HD60X, especially without a dedicated GPU. So, for my original use case, this is not an option, but it seems my original use case was flawed from the start. With good hardware, this device works fine. I just wish I could have used it like I was planning, but that's no real fault of the device. Capturing gameplay from my consoles into OBS works perfectly, and I can even play a game watching the feed in my OBS monitor without lag.

I've had a few variations of the elgato and honestly this one works the best, like it perfect, it gets great quality videos and goes come outside as blurry or distorted as the internal one.

Currently have mine connected from gato to PC with dual connections to monitor and Xbox. Easy to set up with a quick download, easy to use. Works great with OBS.

For what it is, it’s a really great way to record your console’s video output. 1440p@120hz worked on my Xbox Series X/S with the included HDMI cable and recorded onto my Windows laptop and MacBook, however the software is a bit better features wise on the Windows side. For the few wondering if you can play games on the video feed preview that appears on your computer, you can, but there is noticeable lag which turned me off from that. However, for its intended use case of simply recording and using a dedicated monitor, this device blows it out of the water!

Works great. Basically plug and play. You'll have to download the Elgato 4k capture utility, which is actually pretty useful if all you're doing is recording gameplay. Supports up to 4k60 passthrough and can capture up to 4k30, but I'd recommend maxing out at 1440p60 or 1080p120. It's a little pricey, but not compared to the Avermedia or EVGA options. Overall, great product.

My boyfriend needed a way to stream games to his PC and this did the trick! Theres a little delay but that was to be expected from other reviews we read.

Works amazing with my windows PC. Almost a plug and play solution considering the drivers practically install themselves. I use it for my Nintendo switch mostly in tandem with OBS Studio for streaming, but I’m sure it can be used with other devices as well.

Very simple to install. Works better than my old HD60s. The only thing it is a bit on the pricey list.

It does what it’s meant to do, capture gameplay from a gaming console. My set up might be different from others but I have been able to use the card’s “4K Capture Utility” program to stream my gameplay to the public. It did require some tinkering to work but it’s very do-able. That being said the gameplay might be a bit delayed on the program itself; but that’s why I have a secondary screen to play my games on (as it’s recommended to do so). Might sound weird but I think I’ve heard the same can be said with other Elgato cards. I’d still recommend it as a standard capture card that is able to capture my PS5, unlike my last one that couldn’t do the job.

Got this item because I wanted to stream to my friends on discord. Setup was a bit confusing at first but it was most likely user error. Just follow the directions honestly unless you already know, download the compatible streaming software, put whatever settings you perfect and it works just as advertised, picks up whatever you have connected to it without any delays or lag from what I've seen so far. Definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to stream or just recording for record keeping.

Easy to set up and functions as intended. Make sure to download the elgado program even if you intend to use it on a program like OBS. I appreciate the headphone jack addition to this model.

At first getting everything setup was a bit of a hassle but it was worth it. Great video quality and great sound. My stream had never looked better. You can run lower resolution as well with same refresh rate for a cleaner look

I used to have the HD60 for my Xbox One back in the day when I wanted to record videos, but I use this guy to pass the image and sound through my monitor to use side by side with my PC, but Elgato has only improved more and more with time and things like my Stream Deck have never let me down.

this product is simple to use and makes streaming to your friends or even twitch that much more simple. I bought this for my nintendo switch when tears of the kingdom dropped and its been perfect ever since totally worth the money if you value streaming to your friend group. I also have used this product for 12 plus hours straight and not a single issue definitely recommend.

I love this capture card. I replaced this with the Elgato S+. This capture card gave me practically no trouble and work great out the box. I used this card for my ps5 and Nintendo switch. Quality looks good

This worked capturing my wife’s pc gameplay and streaming through my streaming pc. It did die after one use and Unfortunately it was past the return date since I had it for weeks before trying it. I reached out to Elgato tech support and they were responsive and honored their warranty. Replacement has been working without issues.

Recently upgraded to a 1440p monitor and the HD60S+ did not support 1440p at 120 fps. Incredibly crisp recording and streaming quality. Remember to adjust the color settings out of the box! They are really washed out and the video quality looks worse than it actually is because of that.
