Mainly got this because I wanted to be able to eat or drink with a headset on without the headset mic getting in the way. I was not disappointed. I was pretty familiar with Corsair products already and since the company acquired Elgato, there is a certain trust I can have with their products. The mic is easy to set up and use. Although I have had some compatible issues (mostly due to the app and not the hardware), this has not disappointed me and I am bound to continue using Elgato products in the future.

The sound is amazing, set up was easy, just a pleasant experience over all.

The Elgato Wave:3 is mostly constructed of plastic. The "U" shaped bracket that holds the microphone to the stand is particularly flimsy and seems like a potential failure point. In contrast, the circular base is made of very heavy metal. The microphone sits sturdy on the desk. The Rode PSA1+ adapts to fit this microphone, however, I felt the USB cord was in an awkward spot that limits the positioning of the microphone. The top mute button is very responsive (when the unit is operational). The microphone audio quality is suitable for this price point. It will certainly exceed the performance of any webcam based microphone. Once installing Elgato's WAVE LINK software, things took a turn for the worse. The installation was simple, however, after installing it, the microphone begin to lock up. The buttons on the microphone would stop functioning and all audio output would stop. I tried multiple USB ports including a USB 3.1 Gen 2. Moving the microphone to a new USB port would resolve the issue shortly, then the microphone would freeze again. I tried reinstalling the software multiple times. I did not configure any extra settings and kept all the defaults following the instructions exactly. My computer is running Windows 11 with an I7-12900 and 32gb DDR4 RAM. After uninstalling the recommended software, the Elgato Wave:3 functioned again as a regular USB microphone without issue. Because my primary driver for purchasing this unit was the software, I returned it. Based on my experience I do not recommend the Elgato Wave:3.

About the best usb mic you’re going to find. Software is helpful. If you’ve ever done any pro recording you’ll find it all a little dumbed down and wanting more from it, but this isn’t a 3-400.00 xlr mic and mixing board. You get what you pay for, good value here.

Best USB mic on the market. Software allows you to really control how amazing the quality is.

For a streamer this microphone is really good, the quality is similar to some of the yeti microphones but with the software with it, it makes streaming a lot easier

I did a decent bit of research to find a good mic and ultimately settled on this one. Its sound quality is amazing and can help to cancel out some of the background noise without even using the software. With the software, you can do so much with this mic like setting it to only capture at certain audio levels and hearing real time feedback. It also can be muted directly from the mic itself. It isn't always the easiest to use, but after learning all of its functions and features, it is the best mic I have ever used.

The additional wave link software makes it really easy to setup and use this microphone. Its also very useful to forward application audio into zoom calls.
