I have had both a blue snowball and an audiotechnica microphone, and out of the box this wipes away the competiotion! The sound clarity and profile did not require any modification. I would recommend this microphone to anyone looking for a plug and play solution.

It's not a good "1st mic". That being said, if you don't mind setting it up you have a very powerful piece of equipment. You don't get this level of control with any other piece of software or mic.
