Still have a problem

Maybe email not set up right. It was worked on 4 times over the phone and then one time guy came to the home.

Advised the service tech my husband and I share same email and id not know user name. We neglected to record it. Our email periodically asks only for password. Told him to ignore that portion of install. But he went ahead and worked on email requesting new user name and password. But he used my name and installed an old email we no longer use. Brushed it off as we must have been concerned as we 'trouble shooting' was listed on our receipt.

I was sent to Geek Squad and was told it’s not something that they can resolve in the store, but that they could send someone to my home to address the issue for a set payment. I had a home visit by a lovely tech guy. He immediately said that business emails is out of their work scope that I should hire someone that deals with websites. Although he tried to help me he wasn’t able and my issue stayed where it was. I called customer service and asked for a refund of my payment since it had been a mistake to address it with an in home service that doesn’t deal with that type of issue. I was told that an investigation will open and that I would hear back in a few days. A few weeks passed and I still haven’t heard back.

Computer is still a mess

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is not the fault of the service person but for many of the previous techs on phone and in store who have a made a complete mess of my computer - losing contacts, incoming and saved messages doubled. I'm at my wits end and I've spent hours and days and weeks for the last year and nothing is happening to restore. Why isn't my back up working, no one can answer me. I WOULD RECOMMEND THE SERVICE AGENT BUT CAN NO LONGER RECOMMEND GEEK SQUAD AND NO ONE IS CARING AS LONG AS THEY RECEIVE THE ANNUAL MONEY

Regarding the email setup and troubleshooting service, that should include setup of a new email account and configuring the accounts settings and features for your needs. If troubleshooting, we work hard to correct any problems to restore functionality. With apologies, this would not include data transfer, virus removal, or setup, configuration, troubleshooting or repair of your home network, computer or other device. Geek squad tech completed my problem

He did not show up until one and a half hour after that time. I had to cancel a doctor's appointment due to the delay. I did not cancel with the tech since the service was already paid and no clue when Best Buy would reschedule. He was able to complete my problem, but I was disappointed about the delay and having to cancel a doctor's appointment.

No help. I knew more then they did.

Told me to take my computer to Best Buy for more help. I took it next day or so and they spent a whole 5 minutes looking with no result. Didn't really care.

Not What I Wanted

That process was going so slowly that he suggested I take the old unit into the store the next day and have the files transferred to an external hard drive. Which I did I wasn't happy about the extra help and was unhappy that I had to buy an unnecessary external drive.

Disappointed Customer

Solved another problem with attachments, not the biggest deal. Let Geeks know I still needed help. They texted me a way to sync the emails. I had to go into accounts ( I already knew that) but my passwords would not work. I Let them know I need someone here who can really check things out and get it going. No response. I am going to the Best Buy store this afternoon to schedule another in-home visit. We are tech members and buy all electronics only from Best Buy so we can get the service- has always been pretty good until now.

He was also not from the store where I purchased all the equipment: computers, home theater, stereos, etc, etc.

Geek Squad failed attempts to recover my emails.

The agent made it worse when he deleted my Google workspace, and I lost all my other email addresses. The second time I did a remote. Still no success. The third time I took my computer to Geek Squad at Best Buy. Again, no success. The fourth time, Geek Squad came to my home The agent was impatient, and seem to ignore my questions or my comments about things to check out, I wold not recommend to use remote service.
