This is my 3rd mug in about 6 years. I use them heavily so the battery starts to wear out after about 2 years. I've never had any problems with the app, although once I sync and set my preferences, I never use the app again. I don't understand why you would want or need to. I have found the Ember mugs to be exceptionally reliable and have recommended to many family and friends.

Love the color and works great. The battery does die pretty quickly though, but you can leave it on the charger as a coffee stand.

Decided to give this mug a shot as I have heard about them for awhile now. It is straight forward to use, and the app is user friendly. The battery time averaged is accurate so far in the beginning of its' life. I can get about 70-80 minutes before it is telling me I need to put it on the charger, that is at 137 degrees. Setting it hotter or cooler would extend or reduce the time. If you are someone who works from home or have this in the office, it is easy enough to have the charger on your desk and set the cup into the charger to help extend the time. Overall, a great purchase that allows consistent temperatures out of multiple cups of coffee. The best decision I made was spending the extra money to go with the 14 oz. over the 10 oz. I usually brew a 12 oz. cup from my Keurig, and if you add milk or creamer, you would have to reduce your brew cup size in order to make it work.

I absolutely LOVE this cup! I actually look forward to using it every morning at my office. I usually drink a couple of cups of coffee each day and usually have to heat it in the microwave a few times before I finish each cup. This cup keeps the temperature at exactly the temperature that you like. I've tried various temps and the default of 135 degrees is the best. This cup is not meant to provide hours of charge off the base, however, it did last for a 1-1/2 hour meeting before returning it to it's base for charging. It's perfect for the office because I'm up walking around and back to my desk often, so it's constantly being charged again while I'm sitting at my desk, but still stays hot while working things out in the warehouse.

Got this as a long time coming gift for my wife! She has wanted one for years but never as much as this year! With our first baby this year and coffee became her life blood, so she talked about this more. Works as expected. Fairly short battery life, but considering you should drink through a cup within a reasonable amount of time I would say the expectation matches the pay off! Great product, easy to use, app is smooth. Glad I got this for her, finally!!

I didn't know I needed this until I decided to get one. My sister and I share an office and have a coffee machine that we use to brew coffee, tea, cocoa, cider etc. I found the 10oz version of this at Best Buy on sale one day, and decided to get one for my office (It's irritating when my drinks get cold because I add cream/stir them/don't drink it all immediately). Was reluctant at first, and thought "Did I really just buy a smart drink mug?" Now I think to myself "Did I really just buy another two smart drink mugs on top of the one I originally bought?" Absolutely love this thing, and my sister loves hers for keeping her matcha hot. App is easy to use, setup is a breeze, and the quality feels sturdy/well-crafted.

This seems like an extravagant purchase but if you spend the extra time and money to making great coffee, this really makes a big difference in how it tastes. I didn't realize how much I didn't enjoy the last half of my morning coffee until I experienced what it's like when it's at the same temperature as my first sip. The only problem is I now find myself wanting more coffee because the end of the cup no longer puts me off. Product is well built, easy to use and is exactly as advertised.

The Ember Temperature Control Smart Mug has become a perfect addition to my morning coffee routine. I tend to sip my coffee slowly, so cold coffee was always an issue for me. But now, with the Ember mug, those days are behind me! It keeps my coffee hot and at the perfect temperature, which I can easily regulate through the Ember app. The heating element is integrated into the mug itself and doesn’t add any noticeable weight compared to a normal coffee cup. After washing and drying the mug, I simply set it on its charging platform overnight to keep it ready for the next day. One downside is the relatively short battery life; I estimate it lasts around 2 hours before needing a recharge, which is a bit disappointing. The Ember mug does come with a higher price tag, but for an everyday coffee drinker like me, it’s well worth the investment.

Works well - keeps coffee from getting cold. Battery life could be longer but if you keep keep it on the charger then it’s not an issue. Price could be cheaper. App is not really useful at all.

This works amazing and is great for tea, coffee... and hot toddies ;) Maybe only one downside is that it lasts for just about one drink worth and will need a charge before having another.

Other than the battery dying extremely quick, I guess that problem could be resolved by keeping it on the charger while sipping. I love this idea. The worse is having your tea or coffee go cold on you mid enjoyment. Perfect gift for anyone really!

Works as advertised. Made a great gift for my wife. Used the app just once to set temperature and color of light. You don’t even need to turn it on. It automatically senses there’s liquid in it and it keeps it at temperature until last drop. As others have written the enamel on inside scratches easily so don’t use metal utensils to stir your beverages. It was expensive but it gets used every day so probably worth it. Just wish I had one of my own now.

Makes enjoying a cup of coffee at work THAT much better. Gone are the days of having to run my coffee back to the microwave for a quick warm up. Now every single sip is the perfect temperature until the last dro! Go with the 14 ounce size too!! It’s the perfect fit for a Nespresso pod with a splash of oat milk!

Great coffee mug. This is a great idea that I’d put to use. The wife lives having hot coffee while she works from home. It keeps it hot all day as long as it’s on the charging coaster and will keep it hot for about 90 minutes without it on charger. Very easy to set up in app and the cup sleeps when not in use and wakes when you use it. Don’t need to use the app except to change temps if you want to after initial setup.

Mug itself is great if you manage your expectation that it keeps already hot/warmed coffee to your ideal temp for about 90 mins. The app is TERRIBLE. Constantly have to add my ember items back on to the app. EMBER PLEASE FIX THE APP!

If you're a slower coffee drinker like me, this is the perfect solution for keeping your coffee warm or hot the entire time. I usually sip on my coffee for an hour (sometimes more) and this cup does a great job at keeping it hot. You can set the temperature you want in the smart app and the cup will do everything for you. Easy to clean and return to the charger for later or the next day. I liked it so much that I purchased one for my son to drink his hot chocolate during the winter.

There's really not much to say about this mug, but I will say a lot anyway. It keeps your coffee hot, and it does it well. It really is an odd sensation to get to the bottom of a coffee you've been nursing for 45 minutes and even the last drop is just as hot as the first. If you're looking at these reviews, you've already wrestled with the price and you're wondering if it's worth what you'd pay for it. Well ... No, not really. Yes, it does what it says it will do, and yes, I have an irrational love for this mug because it actually filled a need of mine (I am not a coffee chugger, and mine always gets cold halfway through). The setup was easy and I didn't run into any problems connecting to it. It takes quite a while to charge, but that's wireless charging for you (Ember, maybe look into fast wireless charging for the price you're asking for version 3). But can I tell someone to shell out this much money for a mug whose sole purpose is to keep your coffee hot? I can't. Maybe if it was a better, more comfortable mug to grip -- that scrawny sharp handle ... good lord ... quality mugs have thicker, comfortable handles. I wound up with a little funny money and a Best Buy coupon, so I bought something I would never in a million years buy for myself normally, and I am happy with this purchase *in that context*. Now, would it make an amazing gift for the coffee lover in your life? Yes! They'll go nuts over it, and you'll enjoy watching their skepticism turn to delight after realizing their coffee is still hot at the bottom of the mug! If you're a coffee drinker and you want to treat yo'self after 2020? If you've got the cash to spare, yes! You will love this mug! But just don't tell anyone what you paid for it... Also, make sure to get the 14oz -- I accidentally bought the 10oz mug initially because the silver one is the same price as the 14oz and I just wasn't paying attention to the box ... and in person, the 10z is tiny. Pay the extra and get the 14oz if you're going to take the plunge into the world of inexplicably expensive coffee mugs. Pros: It just works. An open mug of coffee still piping hot an hour later will blow your mind, trust me. Easy to set up, easy to use. Cons: Price. Price. Price. And also, the handle is the worst, I find myself just wrapping my hand around the mug because the handle just plain hurts to hold.

I purchased the Ember mug as a gift, but I subsequently received one myself. It only took a few minutes to set up the mug to my specifications via the app and plug in the base; that was all that was needed to begin using it. The mug comes out of the box with a slight charge. I appreciate that I’m able to adjust the temperature depending on what beverage I’m drinking. Easy to clean. Best purchase/gift!

I am in love with this thing. I am a devoted Nespresso user but sometimes the coffee isn't that hot, even when it's right out of the machine. This is the perfect solution. Gets the coffee to the right temperature (without losing the froth) and keeps it there until I'm done. My only complaint is that you need to recharge fairly quickly if it's not on the saucer, but other than that, it's perfection.
