Not in a bad way just very hot. Unfortunately that comes at the cost of a very very short battery life for the best value you need to use the charging plate as a coaster consistently.

Posted .Hello, thank for taking the time to review our product. We understand the frustration when your drink is not set at the perfect temperature. That said, the mug does adjust temperature from 120 F to 145F. Out of the box the mug is set to 135F and if that temperature is too hot, we recommend using the app to reduce the set temperature. Similarly you should expect that the battery last around 80 min. If you are not experiencing a battery life close to that number please reach out to us at support@ember.com so we can better assist you!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The charging base is badly made, so good luck charging your mug after 2 months. The prongs on it get stuck, so it won't charge (see photo). And the battery only lasts about 45 mins without exaggeration.
