    I assumed a kettle is a kettle - but no. Storngly suggest do not buy and get something better. Several issues: (1) super strong plastic odor and taste. We boiled full kettle several times, also with baking soda, also with vinegar. After all this it was tolerable but still noticeable. Who know what we have been drinking. (2) Power switch died after 2 months - sizzled and smoked, unit is dead. (3) slow - took about 8-10 minutes for 1L of water. It does the job but there are other faster units out there for just a little more $.

    It's very light and has a nice blue light, though it doesnt boil up quickly, which is not a biggie
