Great Little Waver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rarely write reviews. If you are looking at this and considering this uWave then you know that %-wise this it already has an outstanding rating. Go ahead. Read reviews of uWaves around the net and see for yourself. Most are pretty bad in this price class (700W under $100). My wife & I both cook, but the Wave is used mainly for odds and ends that make sense and for reheating. Our old Wave was a Samsung about 15 years old. Still working, but the enamel paint started peeling. It was also a 700W, but it was a .9 cu. ft. and this is a .7 cu. ft. unit. Plenty big enough, though. And 700W means 1000W line draw, so it fits our power needs. A 1000W uWave is a 1500W draw; you might want to think about where you need to plug it in. This oven works great. It is VERY quiet. I really like that. I like the instant on 1, 2 or more minute buttons. One cup water comes to full boil in 3 minutes flat; same as the old one. Two minutes is enough for hot water. Three for a small popcorn. It always beeps 5 times; can't cancel the beeping. But at least it is not overly loud. Oven fits a full sized dinner plate. Large casserole, too. My tall 12 oz. drink glass fits fine. Love the pull door. Oven sits firmly on the counter, but being small can still move when opening the door, so I put thin grippers on the bottom feet. The buttons are JUST large enough to make the oven easy to operate. Could be a tad bigger, but it's a minor point. Interior lights when cooking (some ovens do not; why?). All in all a satisfying purchase.

Do Not Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oven did not microwave items evenly. Microwaved potatoes always resulted in one section of the potato being overcooked or burnt. Using the oven for nuking items utilizing water (hot cocoa, soup) resulted in water droplets on the microwave door and, at times, water on the bottom of the microwave. A wipe down of the microwave needed to be done after each use where water was involved. I have never had problems such as these with a microwave before. This oven was returned.

Very Poor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my daughters dorm stopped working after one use. When I asked the store clerk she said that it has been hit or miss with them. We thanked her for her honesty and looked to buy a different modle.

Ya get what ya pay for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used daily to heat a cup of water and occasionally to reheat a meal. Eight months along it overheats after a couple minutes. Not worth repairing.

Great Little Microwave
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old microwave died. I was looking for an affordable simple microwave for just warming/heating food and drinks. The Emerson 0.7 Cu. Ft. Compact Microwave is my perfect match. The price is very affordable, very simple easy to understand operations and small in size. To my surprise, it's very lightweight.

Good Value for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great little microwave oven for the price, but: The door is hard to open. I ended up attaching rubber feet to the bottom of the oven to give the oven traction so that it won't slip every time I open the door. The clear plastic coating that covers the keypad has started to bubble up. It's not really noticeable from a distance, but still, it shouldn't be doing this after only a few months of use. I wished the door opened a little wider. It opens wider than 90 degrees, but I wish it opened about an inch more than it does.

Undependable heating. Bad door. Avoid this.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because it was the only one I could find that fit my specs. All the others were almost 15 inches high, and too deep for my space. My first problem is that there is no button to open the door. I realized that when I bought it, but it didn't seem to be alarming. However, the door requires much force to open. So much that it almost comes off the shelf and, if there's food in there, it jiggles it and spills it. I tried opening it with one hand on the microwave, and the other on the door, but it's still a problem. It seemed to cook all right, but I was heating soup and noticed the microwave seemed to go off and on, just as if it was on "defrost." After 3 minutes, the soup was hot on the bottom and cold on top. Sometimes, it seems to cook fine, other times, it seems to default to the defrost mode. When I heat a TV dinner that took 11 minutes to cook in my previous 700 microwave, the Emerson took 27 minutes to heat. And that required my constant monitoring. Finally, I discovered if I set it for "frozen vegetables" (which gives you 4 minutes, but when you press "start" changes to 4:30) it would cook consistently instead of off and on. But you can't add time to this mode, so if you want it to go for 10 minutes, you must babysit and wait for it to finish the first 4:30. I need my cooking appliances to be dependable and consistent. In the future, I will avoid all things Emerson.

VERY GOOD QUALITY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This microwave is small, yet quite functional. It fits nicely on my compact shelf in the kitchen and even though not as powerful as the larger units, it works quite well.So who cares if I have to wait an extra minute for something to heat up? Overall, I am very satisfied and would highly recommend.
