4k movie on sale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased a 4k tv and 4k Blu-ray player. I needed a 4k Blu-ray to test them out. While looking around Best buy I saw this movie on sale for a little over half it's normal price and bought it. I had seen the show on Blu-ray before and I was very impressed with the difference that the 4k resolution makes. The movie itself is also very good.

Good Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie is one of the rare films that actually shows the development of the young man becoming a leader and forming a team and the challenges associated with doing so. There are some good lessons contained in this movie. Have your favorite snack available and enjoy.

A decent video of Orson Scott Card's original
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This video is a much shortened version of Orson Scott Card's phenomenal original story in print, but pretty well done. Casting was decent with Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley as supporting actors. What will be interesting is if there will be a video equivalent to Card's book sequel.

OK movie for a book that's always in the mind.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ender's Game (book) spends much of its time reading the first person thoughts and feelings of the main character (Andrew "Ender" Wiggin) who is ultimately a messianic figure and who at six years old is taken by the government to live at a boarding school in space. The school is actually a battle training school where the cadets are subjected to all sorts of manipulation, brutal training, & homesickness. In addition to these, Ender must also deal with a faculty deadest on totally isolating him from the thought that anyone will ever help him get out of any jam he's in. He must survive on his own or humanity dies. The movie does an excellent job of telling a similar story but there's just not enough time to do it justice. It might have made a better TV Series. If you like the book, watch the movie. If you haven't read the book, read it.

Pretty good, made me interested to read the book
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not read the book yet, but i enjoyed the movie. Most novels turned into books usually are never as good as the book. But they try to do the best they can with the film time they are allowed. I for one wouldn't want to go see a 6 hour movie just so they could follow the entire book scene for scene.

Worth the wait but seemed rushed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being a huge fan of the books, this was a movie that I had been waiting a long, long time for. They did manage to translate most of the main storyline to the screen but it seemed rushed. They could have added 30-45 minutes to the film to fill in some of the blanks. Some of the back story was left out and some aspects of the story had to be changed to fit it into the 2 hour window that they had. It would have gotten 4-5 stars from me had they not skipped over some of the main story. Unfortunately, they get penalized because of how high the bar had been set by the books. That being said, for anyone that didn't read the books (I pluralized because they also changed Bean's story and character for that matter) should enjoy the movie. It is action packed, the effects were amazing and the main point of the story was left in tact.

Entertaining

Good Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoyed all the Enders Games books and was looking forward to the movie. I really enjoyed the movie and its storyline followed the book for the most part. I think if someone was to come to this movie without reading the books they would get a decent action movie with reasonable plot line to watch

Good movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read this book many years ago and was thrilled that it was made into movie. The writers did an excellent job in staying true to the story. The acting was great and the pace of the movie made it an exciting Sci-fi thriller. This movie is good entertainment. I'd recommend it to a friend.

A fun exploration of the source material!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ender's Game is a film adaptation that has been in and out of development for quite some time. Fans of the novel series have a lot to love here, as long as they are flexible with some of the changes and updates. Hopefully, this film will welcome new fans to the universe of the novels as well.

Read the book, then watch the movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ender's Game is the coolest book ever, read it first so you understand the movie. The Movie had some good points but a lot of the intrigue is lost in translation. The effects were pretty decent but they didn't build the end as well as they could have.

Thoughtful film with minimal heart
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to enjoy this film a lot since I grew up with the book. I thought the special effects were great, and the actors were top notch. However, I just didn't feel a lot of heart when it came to the characters. I think the script limited the connections with the characters.

Thought-provoking sci-fi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ender's Game is a great story because of how it treats and portrays children: young, immature, impulsive, intelligent, but not helpless. The sci-fi is good, but not the best part of this film. The best part is what the story says about humanity and the strength to be found in children when they're not treated as weak, fragile and in need of coddling.

Good movie, but a bit choppy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not read the book so I am not comparing. What I do know is I expected more. The movie was interesting but predictable, with a lack of fluidity and a bit too easily resolving issues. The end is in some ways anti climactic. Overall it was a good movie and I will be watching it again.

Bought movie because I Love Enders Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have loved the story ever since I read it and have recommended the book to everyone I know who reads. I bought the movie to complement my collection of Orson Scott Card items. Movie had some concessions to length but overall is ok. Read the Book first!!!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my first 4K TV this Black Friday and I wanted some movies I have seen in standard HD so I could have a comparison.
