Long movie , wish it had a better ending and plot.

Don't waste your money. So i have to say 50 words. Dont really waste your money or anyone else's money on this movie. Take my word it is true.

Decent teen sci-fi flick. Somewhat slow and too long though.

Sets up a bad precedent. A government agency training kids to be killers.

Eh... Not terrible, has since interesting stuff, but can be rather dull.

Read the book, don't buy the movie; it's not as good as the dust jacket leads you to believe.

I was expecting such a great movie. Harrisson Ford, etc. I was so upset with this movie sucking that I want to return it for a refund. What a disappointment. It put me to sleep. I'm glad I didn't spend the money to see it in IMAX 3D. A real let down.

The disc wouldn't play. I took it back and exchanged for another. The new one wouldn't play either. Worse was Best Buy's policy that they will not refund faulty DVD's. Never buying DVD's from them again.

Clearly, this movie is geared toward teens, I'm 31. I probably never would have picked it up unless Harrison Ford was in it. It is a fun and entertaining movie, yet it could have used a little more humor and side-character development. There are many characters and many personalities to get to know, but they handle it well. The young actors are very good and while it was similar to the Hunger Game style, it still held it's own in the genre. The special effects, scenes and over-all sci-fi feel of the movie are all done well. The movie pacing was good, just when it felt like it was slowing down it would pick back up. The ending seemed very anticlimactic and greatly felt like there is much more to come in a series of films. The PQ and AQ were both solid a and looked and sounded great on my system. Recommended for a rent, maybe pick up at the right price.

As a fan and collector of Harrison's for over 30 years I USED to be first in line opening day for his films. I have never read the book this is based on. To be honest, I had never heard of it. I thought the special effects were a bit much, over done and not realistic looking. Spoiler, it took quite a bit of time to bring Oscar winner Ben Kingsley into the film. Harrison, Ben and Viola Davis did good jobs with their roles and this is not to be surprised. Oscar winner & two Oscar nominees Good extras on this package. For fans of the stars and fans of sci fi or the book.

This is a film version of a classic sci-fi novel. I have not read the book unfortunately, so I can't tell you if this is a 100% faithful adaptation or not. I can tell you though, that I enjoyed the film. Solid production design, and good performances from Ben Kingsley, Harrison Ford, and the younger cast. The story is not big on action - instead focusing on character growth and some interesting moral/philosophical issues to ponder over. I actually wish this had done well enough in the box office to guarantee some sequels (based on the later books) but I guess that's not going to happen.
