It's a cheaper way to go if you don't want to upgrade to the 4th generation Apple TV. The battery lasts a long time. My son is a heavy user since we cut the cable cord!

While there is always the possibility I misopened it, it still was impossible to simply to get the battery out of the plastic it was somehow encased in.

When they died they worked even better when I chucked them at a squirrel that wouldn’t leave my bird feeder alone!

Installation was easy. I cannot speak to how long these will last in the detectors but the previous ones went for 2 years or more.
