You can hear it discharge before the crystal starts recirculating power on it's own right at start up. Mine now fires up fast enough to never be surprised again.

That was a mistake - batteries in my remotes and tire pressure gauge did not last long. Energizer batteries have been in for months and I am having no issues. There's a reason why ebay batteries are so cheap.

My scale only use one and they last so long that by the time the battery dies I've already lost track of the second one and have to buy another one, which only comes in a two pack.
