this is normal behavior, due to the battery’s rated capacity and voltage conversion efficiency.
Although the unit is labeled as 10,000mAh, that rating is based on the internal 3.7V cells. When converting to 5V output for charging, the usable capacity becomes around 6,000–6,500mAh. It’s like carrying a full bucket of water — some will spill along the way, so the final usable amount is naturally less.
Using half the battery to charge your phone to 75% is consistent with how the product is designed.

I purchased this portable charger to attend a concert last minute. It charged quickly & I was able to hold my phone & the charger in the same hand comfortably while filming content. If the charger isn't being used it holds its charge which is awesome! Highly recommend

Charging cord doesn’t work

My iPhone 12 pro max battery was just about done with it's, life right when I was leaving on a trip. I ordered this bank at the last minute and charged it up before my flight. My phone was tethered to this for life support or it would just shut off. I was able to watch a full movie on the plane and the bank had 89% battery left. Amazing little unit for such a low price!
