She insisted she need AA size, but when we got home she discovered she needed AAA size. Fortunately, this unit has both size batteries and can charge both sizes. Very happy with this item.

Would have given it 5 stars if the indicator lights were a little more granular and if there was a feature to turn off the annoying beep.
