Nice to save on some AA batteries but if you don't slot them in correctly it doesn't charge like it should. Have charged in a couple different locations (2 houses and work), use primary to charge batteries that go in camera, they last well enough. Charger itself has 3 lights that tell you condition of battery power

Probably cheaper to use rechargeable batteries than to buy new ones for that purpose. Works as advertised and charges really fast and as for the batteries, they seem to hold charge pretty well.

The charge lasts a decent amount of time and I have yet had to throw away the rechargeable batteries after a couple months of use.
