It is in a difficult place to get to so having a battery with long life is desirable and these do last longer than alkaline.

Great in freezer

I have not tried regular alkaline batteries, but didn't want my alarm to fail due to the cold (the sensor is inside the freezer) with regular alkaline batteries. All is still working so far.

They last nearly two years under normal weather conditions. I like that they live up to their reputation. Best Buy is one of the few retailers that I can easily find them.
