Lithium batteries are more expensive than alkaline, but they have an excellent shelf life, are lightweight, and provide long life in use. These batteries are still working in my TV remote even though I installed them over a year ago.

I took my time to really think these were worth buying the past couple years. They are now more cost effective I still will use the standard AA in many other areas.
