Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the fast performance and ease of use of the ENVY Desktop, particularly praising its solid state drive and ample storage. Many appreciate the reasonable price and quiet operation, along with the sleek design. However, some customers noted the large size of the desktop and occasional issues with the power supply and lack of included speakers. The positive feedback on performance and storage significantly outweighs the negative comments regarding size and a few reported hardware problems.

Suspicious
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked great for about a month. Now I am trying to recover the desktop that I set up. The system arbitrarily decided to reset and remove all my personalize settings. Kind of a joke one minute working then a screen flicker and done!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Power supply died two weeks into use. Being sent back to HP for repair. Out of computer use for 2+ weeks. HP online support unhelpful. Wow. Regret buying this brand.

Wish I had more info before buying...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright. I'm going to lay everything out that I had to find out the hard way upon buying this PC. In the Q&A section, users claimed that you could install a graphics card so long as you stayed under the 300w limit. Okay. You can get an RX 460, GTX 1050 TI, or some other decent cards and not hit that ceiling. I went with a used GTX 750 TI that someone was selling locally. I bought this computer, opened it up, and found that THERE IS NOT AN EXTRA CONNECTION FROM THE POWER SUPPLY TO PLUG INTO A GPU!! I am mad because I went out of my way to get the GTX 750 second hand since I took other users' word of how easy putting a GPU would be, with only the wattage being a factor. I am stuck with this GPU unless I either: A) Buy a new power supply for this PC (at which point I should just spend the extra $100 and go for the HP Envy that has the RX 480 in it) or B) try to resell the GTX 750 TI. One other thing to mention is the 12 GB of RAM. It is one 4 GB stick and one 8 GB stick, which upon reading online and talking to friends who are more PC savvy than me, having mismatched RAM amounts like this will affect the performance. I honestly couldn't tell you by how much personally, but knowing that it has a negative impact is another strike against this PC in my eyes. If you don't care about gaming and want to use this as a Microsoft Word machine, or maybe do some video editing or things that don't need a graphics card, then this may be good for you. The SSD makes it boot up fast, programs are snappy, and it having Bluetooth and all these ports is nice. But in my particular situation, this model is not what I am looking for. I am going to return this and go for the RX 480 HP Envy, and I will leave a review for that as well since there are currently no reviews for that model just yet. It is the exact same as this one, other than having 8 GBs of RAM and no SSD, but those could be added without much trouble (or so I hope!)

Excellent piece of equipment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very impressed. This is my first desktop, I've had laptops in the past, so I may have been impressed with most desktops. But no problems, machine is quiet, lightening fast, and love the design. A few bloatware HP items preinstalled, but nothing you can't get rid of quickly. Also the DVD drive in ejected mode seems a bit fragile, would like that to be more stable. Those are minor complaints though, still giving it 5 stars. Only had a few days, but expect this to last me a long time.

Buffering
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer for a couple of days now and I bought it after reading the reviews. I had an ancient Windows XP so upgrading to this computer was a big move for me. It's definitely fast and has great options. I'm using it with my old monitor; I had to buy a VGA adapter and it works ok. The screen will drop out completely at times then reappear. I also tried to download AOL 9.8 and it completely froze the computer and kept a continuous buffering until I did a hard reboot. I've noticed the buffering is continuous when I first turn on the computer; I really hope this isn't a problem because I'd like to hang onto this one. As far as the wireless keyboard and mouse I love it. It hasn't been a problem at all. Best Buy customer help was awesome with all my questions and I feel confident that if there any further issues with this computer I can return it with no problems. But I hope that's not the case because I do like it.

Good desktop, poor quality accessories
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast & easy set up. Keyboard/mouse are garbage. You should plan to buy replacements for both and recycle these. Also, in store team missed an upsell opportunity by not selling Windows 10 with the unit (Windows 10 operating system NOT software included). Ended up buying elsewhere for $80 less.

Great Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally replaced my old desktop, with this one after reading and researching, decided this one would fit my needs. This computer is whisper quiet and very fast. Restart or turning on from being off, takes seconds. Waking from sleep is instant. As mentioned by numerous other reviewers, the DVD drive being vertical is a bit tricky, and the drive is a little flimsy, so you really need to be cautious when inserting or removing a disc. This so far is my only complaint. I have had two separate hard drives connected and transferring large amounts of data, music playing and watching movies (to see how much CPU was being utilized), all at the same time and it was hardly using any CPU at all. This is not a gaming rig, if you want a gaming rig, look else where. However, with that being said, this desktop is plenty powerful for the average user. I am very happy with it.

Nice desktop, miserable keyboard and mouse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the fast startup because of the SSD. Now I've got to get accustomed to redirecting app installs to the 'D' drive because of limited 'C' drive space (128GB). No biggie, just an adjustment from usual. I would have given the unit 5 stars except for the keyboard and mouse, mainly the mouse. It is the flimsiest gizmo I've ever tried to use.

No monitor port
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer but could not plug in my monitor because there is no printer port (shown in the manual to have one) for a pin cable only hdmi and dvi. I had to go out and buy an adapter and chord separately at my expense and at another store because the store I bought the computer from only sells them online.

Junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked about an hour and went completely dead. HP support rude and not at all helpful. I would give 0 stars but that is not an option. Hope Best Buy will be helpful. Now I will be stuck with an HP product with lousy support that I really don't want.
