Perfect for presentations

So first off, I love the lumen (light) output of this projector. It is easily visible, even in a lit room. This projector is to me the perfect trade off of size and port density. I would include brightness in that but I don’t think it’s a trade off as larger projectors I have used have less brightness.
As for the port density versus size, there is one HDMI, USB A, USB B (Display Port), VGA, Video and Audio in. This is almost perfect. It did take me a bit to realize none of the iProjection App or Wi-Fi connection actually work without the USB add-on. So if you’re looking for that capability you might consider stepping up to the next model. But for me, these port sections are almost perfect. The only port I feel like is missing is Audio out. The USB A port is where you could plug in the Wi-Fi adapter card if you have one or power a casting device off of if needed (you can also plug in a usb devices and display on the projector with this port). The USB B port or display port, with the right cable allows you to connect your laptop to the projector via USB C, or for that matter your cell phone, depending on the phone you have it will launch a desktop mode (Dex for instance). I love this feature as it makes it extremely easy to always be connected to my work presentations and project data.
I appreciate the Audio in and the built in speaker but the speaker I found is not the best, even with just talking voices get a little fuzzy at higher volumes and the highest volume does not get as loud as you need for the size the screen can get. But this may not be an issue for most people that are looking for a projector for conference rooms and presenting data on the go. I will run my audio through a mixer so that I can have a microphone over the top of whatever music, voices, or whatnot are part of the presentation in some cases as well as through a live casting device in some instances… all of which is best to do by separating the audio out before it gets to the projector.
The remote controller has a few extremely useful buttons on it, the zoom feature and split are two of my favorite. The zoom enables me to zoom in (it stays surprisingly clear) and then move around on the screen. Zooming in on a PowerPoint itself can be a pain so being able to do this from the projector is extremely useful. The split feature allows me to have two different sources, such as the display input (computer on the remote) and HDMI.
Pros:
- Size
- Brightness (this is a big pro)
- Presentation tools (split screen, Zoom)
- Visual input ports
- Vertical self-correcting image
- Carrying case
- Built in Speaker
- 3 adjustable feet
Cons:
- No Audio Out
- Wi-Fi card not included

Another Great Epson Projector

Epson has done it again with the Epson EX5280 3LCD Projector. This is a great projector for those looking to use a projector for business presentations and other uses.
The unit itself weighs a little over 5 pounds. With the convenient and included carrying case, this projector is easily portable from office to office or can even be taken on the go to other businesses. As for setting it up, that is fast and easy. You can just find a surface to set the projector on. You don’t need to center the unit as it has vertical and horizontal keystone correction to make the picture look perfect. With HDMI, Component video, Composite video, USB Type A, and USB Type B video inputs, you can easily connect your Windows, Chrome, or Mac machine to the projector.
As for the image quality, the Epson does an exceptionally good job. With a brightness of 3800 lumens, the projector is plenty bright to even be used in an ambient lit room even 15 feet away from the screen. The image size is good too. From 10 feet, you can get an image with a 100 inch diagonal. At 12 feet away, that size goes up to 120 inches. And at 15 feet away, the image size is over 150 inches. The maximum image resolution for this unit is only 1080p, but that is plenty powerful enough to handle PowerPoint business presentations or other business-related tasks. The enclosed speaker is also loud enough to handle any multimedia files you may have without the need for extra speakers.
The projector has only one HDMI port. I am sure it could be used for home video applications, but I really didn’t try to do that with this projector. Also, while you could game on this projector, I am sure input lag would be higher than most would want. I am not saying you couldn’t do it. There is nothing stopping you form doing it. It is just the projector is really made for the business environment.
The Epson EX5280 3LCD is a great projector for your business needs. I recommend it for anyone or any business looking for a high quality, portable projector.

Solid, capable, bright business projector

The Epson EX5280 is an excellent, reasonably compact, traditional business presentation device with a few features that make it highly adaptable to different types of media. At its price point, the EX5280 is competing with some super budget "1080p" projectors which do not output anywhere near as much light.
The brightness of the EX5280 is excellent - It was easily bright enough to compete with the lights of a typical conference room when used for standard presentation content, especially on a real screen. I also tried it in a bright office space with just an average white wall and it performed adequately with your standard spreadsheet or powerpoint deck. I then turned on the "Eco" mode which dims the lamp and reduces the fan noise - even with Eco it was fine in most of the placed I set it up.
Keystone adjustment was nearly automatic from a few minor angles, and easy to adjust when it didn't do a good job on its own. For right and left angles, the keystone adjustment on the lens is fine, and for up and down or extreme angles the projector does some correction and you have a few options for how to get it the rest of the way. In every setup I tried, I was able to get the H/V keystone very close to perfect.
I tested the EX 5280 with the USB input mode (which duplicates your primary display) as well as the HDMI input. Despite being only a 1024x768 "XGA" projector, the HDMI input claims to accept 4K input. While I did not try a 4K source it did handle 1080p and 1440p with no problems. This can come in handy when you are willing to trade a little blurring of the picture in exchange for more content on screen. It also worked really well with a Chromecast for a fun movie night with my kids. The speaker is loud enough and distortion free even at the highest volume when used in this way.
My biggest complaints are the high noise from the fan in normal mode, and the USB display input being limited to duplicating your primary display. It would be nice if the projector had USB3 and DisplayLink so it could function as a secondary display. Still, it's a good value for what it is - most of the other projectors I've seen at this price or cheaper are poorly made LED models that won't work except in a pitch black room.

If you are looking for a highly portable, versatile projector for you business needs, this is the one.
I participate in practice council meetings at my hospital and this projector is exactly what I needed to be able to enhance the presentations and slideshows I give to my colleagues.
First of all, this is a very inclusive and user-centric package that Epson put together. The carrying bag they included is robust and makes me feel that I am carrying this projector with confidence. The projector connected easily to my 2015 MacBook Pro via an HDMI cable. The speaker built into the projector is actually quite loud and has allowed me to leave behind the usual portable speaker and 3.5mm audio cable that I was using to project audio for videos during the meetings.
The really stand out feature that I must emphasize is how BRIGHT the image is and how well it does in brightly lit areas. The unfortunate aspect of this COVID-rollercoaster among many is that our meetings have had to move to unusual locations where darkness in the room or projector screens are not reliably available. This projector has helped us to remain flexible in our meeting locations and still be able to present our slideshows and competency videos.
This projector is a real win in my book. This should be high on your list of options for projectors that are great on the go and in less-than-ideal environments like ones that are bright or lack projector screens.

This projector is amazing for it's little size. It was real easy to setup and the picture quality is great, nice and crisp. The remote that comes with it is nice to have. The carrying case with cable storage is also a nice touch. The 2 things that I didn't expect was that the picture looks great even if the room is well lt. And the built-in speaker is very loud. I only wish it had built in WiFi.

If you are in the market for a new business projector the Epson EX5280 3LCD XGA Projector is the one for you. As a person who is constantly on the move and has to make presentations all of the time, I found myself in need of a projector that was lightweight and easy to handle. The Epson EX5280 3LCD XGA Projector was just what I was looking for, so I decided to give it a try.
The Epson EX5280 3LCD XGA Projector comes with: a carry bag; control (batteries included); and the power wire. You will need to supply your own HDMI cable for presentations. With that being said, this projector does have one HDMI slot, USB-b port, VGA, and audio/video RCA ports.
As for the display, the Epson EX5280 3LCD XGA Projector image quality is great. The display is bright and clear. With keystone adjustment, you have more adjustability as well. As with most projectors, don't expect booming sound quality from the built-in speaker. The sound is good enough for business presentations, so if you intend on using this for watching movies at home (which you can, as the image quality is really good for this too), you might want to find a way to connect a sound bar system to the projector.
Overall, the Epson EX5280 3LCD XGA Projector is just what I needed. It's really hard to beat Epson quality. So, if you are in the market for business projector, the Epson EX5280 3LCD XGA Projector is the one for you.

At this time we have not returned to our office environment so my test were done in my home office. The overall ease of set up and soft carrying case are all big pluses as is the multitude of connections from the newest down to ancient VGA. The onboard speaker is fine for a small office but better off with external speakers to avoid lack of clarity at higher volumes.
The remote is a beauty with many easy to access functions. The ability to do split screen images and to zoom into any part of that image is very useful for presentations. The brightness level is very very good even in a room lit up with sunlight from multiple room windows.
So at home I took advantage of using the projector to play movies from my Apple TV hookup and blown away by the clarity and brilliance of the images on a plain room wall. A very excellent projector both for home of definitely for business presentations.

Solid Business Project - Especially for 4:3 Format

The Epson EX5280 3LCD XGA Projector is a solid product for presentations and media. Light, simple to setup, with ample controls on the projector as well as the remote. I appreciated being able to easily adjust skew, zoom, and focus.
The image is what you expect from an Epson unit in this price range - crisp, good colors, even brightness across the screen, etc.
The Epson EX5280 3LCD XGA Projector presents itself as a business presentation tool - and it certainly excels at that. The only disappointment I experienced was that it's native format is the older 4:3, rather than the newer 16:9. It will handle 16:9, but it does it in a letter-box format, with means you can still see the not-so-faint additional blank projection area. Once I came to terms with this, I was able to focus on the primary area - which is, as mentioned, clear and crisp.

SUMMARY
-------
An excellent portable projector which comes with a case and its amazingly bright. It has an HDMI In port which will let you connect your appletv, fire tv , roku etc which is a feature i usually found lacking in earlier models, i am glad that this projector can now double up as your home theater system.
What's in the box
----------------
EX5280 Projector
Power cable
Remote control
Batteries
Quick Start Guide
Case
Pros
----
1. Good size, its small and comes with a carrying case
2. Its got a good on-board speaker
3. Good contrast ratio up to 16,000:1 which lets this one perform well in a lit room
4. It is XGA resolution which would be closer to a 720p in TV
5. HDMI Input port so you can connect your Roku/Fire TV
6. Audio out through AV
Cons
----
1. Wish this had a HDMI ARC OR an optical port to connect sound bar
DETAILS
-------
Build quality and setup
-----------------------
Like every other epson projector, this is built like a tank and its stellar. Now, the setup is a plug and play. I was able to connect my laptop through the HDMI port and the mirroring of my laptop on the screen was very bright and crisp. Its small in size and easy to lug around from one conf room to another, this is a great plus.
Usage
-----
This is a projector mainly for business i.e. for zoom calls and presentations. With that said, it performs well on the presentations/mirroring my pc on the screen with crisp details.
I was also able to connect my fire tv to this thing and it can play videos very well. Only downside is that the speaker is weak and its 2W as expected from any projector.
One downside is that there is no Optical port so that i can connect a sound bar to this. There is however, L/R AV port which can connect to a self powered speaker such as Edifier R1280T which has an AV input.
Also if this had a Bluetooth connectivity, it could actually connect to any Bluetooth speaker. i think Epson should offer Bluetooth connectivity going fwd..
Overall i think you will really like this projector for your business function and occasionally doubling as an entertainment device.
