EPSON Home Cinema 2150 Wireless 1080p Projector is a sight to behold. It’s the kind of picture quality that blows your mind and it’s downright breathtaking EVERY SINGLE TIME you turn it on! I certainly had a wild ride with this projector because once you set it up properly with the right equipment it is something that blows away your friends.
In the box comes a quick start guide to help you set up this protector as quickly as you can. While this is great it’s better for you to manually set it up according to your eyes. There are a ton of buttons and switches on the top of the Cinema 2150. You can close the lens/mute the AV with one switch, the Lens shift gauges allows you to properly project the images onto the wall, power button, Home button, Keystone controls, Menu button, Source button, Vol controls, and an Esc button. All of these are perfect and if you lose the remote most of the main controls are here.
Picture quality is jaw dropping when projected. I’m getting about 100 inches that makes my TV in the living room look like a 4K small toy. The black levels are deep and nice while the projector display colors that are beyond beautiful. Everything displayed on the Home Cinema 2150 pops out at you.
Watched Planet Earth 2 that gushes out with a stunning color and you can see the hair detail on the animals. Out of everything I displayed gaming on this was one of the best gaming experiences I ever encountered. Zelda: Breath of the Wild (while the game doesn’t use 1080p) was riddled with detail, and YouTube/Netflix look stunning. There is no doubt this projector can handle content extremely well.
Setting it up was fairy easy, most of my time was spent Keystone the right angle. As my Home Cinema 2150 is slightly sit off to the side. It had no problem projecting the right square image just getting it perfect takes the most time. I used it on a white wall for about a day (which also looked fantastic) but ended up going to buy a projector screen which enriched all of the detail. If you want the best I would say this is a must. Frame interpolation can be turned on and off depending on what you enjoy.
Wireless display works fine with Windows 10 laptop, watched a few movies and played a few arcade emulators and it was large with booming detail. There is also an app on the App Store that allows you to use your phone as a remote as well as stream pictures and websites. The fan on the projector isn’t loud at all so you don’t get distracted when watching your favorite TV shows.
I have two issue with the projector but they are minor. The sound on the projector is not good, while it’s nice that it’s there, even at the loudest Volume it’s only enough to fill a small room. There is no way I would recommend the sound on it. Just get/use a soundbar or surround sound system believe me you would be happy you did.
The other issue I have is that the UI menu on this projector is so outdated. It was like using a UI in 1990. I’m not asking Epson to change what works but this is clearly a bad UI even on other modern projectors are a step up. The App UI is also so bad that you would think it’s 2006 all over again. But hey atlease they work and that’s the important thing. The remote is huge and clunky, it has all the buttons it needs to control individual settings but I won’t be using it. It’s just not ergonomic compared to universal remotes now.
Bottom line the picture quality is strictly amazing. There isn’t much to be said if you want a big IMAX like screen in your home. There is so much detail in 1080p making it vibrant and lush at a large scale. There are some shortcomings as mention but those doesn’t take away from the actual point of the projector. Want a big screen? Love watching sports on a big screen? Love gaming on a big screen? Love watching movies? This is the ultimate entertainment content viewing projector. Yes I would recommend this to anyone who want to enhance their personal viewing experience. Awesome product!!

Let me first start out by saying this projector is extremely light and portable. I can totally see traveling with this when it's possible that we might need it. Tailgating is one idea that comes to mind and then movie nights during rainy days at our lakehouse is another. The picture quality is good enough for daytime and nighttime viewing, but you have to stay away from direct light. However, that's the case for any projection system.
When it comes to setup and use, the Epson Home Cinema 2150 is pretty user friendly. My first endeavor with the unit was utilizing an Amazon FIre Stick for Thursday Night Football. I literally fired up the system, plugged in the FIre Stick, and just navigated to the game. It was super easy and the stream was excellent. I was able to project in on a neutral color wall with no issues.
I also spent some time tinkering with the mobile app and remote as well. They were both pretty easy to use. I most say that I was impressed with both of them for different reasons. The remote actually worked with the Amazon Fire Stick while navigating. That was certainly a nice feature that I wasn't prepared for. From the mobile app perspective, the screen share was pretty nice. I can see that being useful in very specific situations, but not a ton since I couldn't seem to get video to cast to the screen that way.
The only knock that I would throw its way is the sound of the fan. If you don't have the sound on, it's quite loud. Of course, you expect to hear it from any projector, but it's something to note. Outside of that, I would say the Epson Home Cinema 2150 is a projector that I would recommend to someone who is looking for one.

Who says you cant own a movie quality projector for a decent price? Epson that's who! I have to honestly say i have never really been a big fan of projectors. I remember when i was younger right around the early 2000's my uncle had spent a fortune on a home movie projector in his custom built movie theater room. I remember watching a movie and thinking to myself "man there is no way i could ever spend this much money for a grainy quality film that cant even hold its own contrast against a black wall." Epson has put all my doubts to rest with the home cinema 2150. Lets dive in and talk about what this thing can do and what you can expect to get out of it. First off out the box you get this big square projector, a power cable, and a real basic instruction book. I was kinda disappointed to see that they didn't include a 3.5mm audio cable but i guess i really didn't expect them to anyways. The Epson offers a few different hook ups, you have two HDMI ports with one of them being compatible for a MHL cable. A MHL cable by the way allows you to connect your smart phone directly to the projector via a hard line. You also have a usb port and a VGA port for your pc along with a 3.5mm audio jack. I was very disappointed to see that they did not offer an optical cable jack especially since alot of my audio equipment runs optical cables. Nevertheless the projector does come with a single built in speaker on the rear of the projector but trust me when i tell you that your not going to want to rely solely on that speaker. The sound quality out of the speaker is clear but its not very loud or crisp. The design of the speaker appears to be more for convenience during power point or on the go meeting presentations you may have without having to lug around all kinds of auxiliary speakers. The build of the projector appears to be of pretty good quality. You have a hard plastic shell encasing all the components with a removable air filter, high powered fan and you have trouble lights to let you know if there is an issue with the lamp or over heating (refer to picture for example). Once you turn on the projector, setting up the screen is easy, the projector will auto center it for you and all you really have to do after that is square it off and adjust the height to where you want it. The projector also provides a lens shift which allows you to raise and lower the picture by approximately 6 inches this way when you get the picture near the height you want it you can then fine tune it. Picture quality does need to be adjusted but its very easy to accomplish this. You are provided two rings/slides, one is a focus ring and the other is a zoom ring. The name kinda says it all as to what they do. The projector also has hook ups on the underside which allow for an aftermarket ceiling mount to be installed. There is also an option in the menu guide which allows and adjusts for ceiling mount and floor mount. Now lets talk about what you can do with this projector and how good the picture quality is. The picture quality is suprisingly very good. I thought i was going to have to buy a black screen backdrop or use a black sheet to get a good picture quality but i was wrong. I may be wrong but the projector almost appears to display its own natural black back drop. In the picture provided you can see a black border around the picture which kinda leads me to believe this being the reason why you can project a movie on to any color surface. The picture quality is 1080 with a 60 hz refresh rate. The movie displayed in the picture provided was done via a standard dvd player. You can also hook up your ps4 and xbox and play games off the projector. Another nice feature that the Epson offers that i was not expecting is the ability to screen mirror. What this means is pretty much most smartphones made within the last 4 years or so have the ability to mirror the phone of any device that supports this feature. Simply put what you do is you open up the source menu on the projector and scroll over to screen mirror, then when prompted to you open up your smart phone and click on the button that says smart view or screen mirror. It will then connect the two devices together wireless so that you can display everything on your phone directly to the projector. This is a pretty cool feature, lets say you have friends or family down and you want to show them some family photos you took on your trip to the beach simply link the two devices up and now the whole family can see your photos similar to your grandparents slideshow just without all the out dated technology. You can pull up facebook, email, and even power point presentations granted that your phone has the capability. More importantly you can live stream movies you may have on your google account library. Now keep in mind if you plan on streaming movies through this process you had better have a solid wifi router with a fast internet connection and a smartphone with a good processor or you will experience some lag. The possibilities of what you can do with this projector is almost endless. From everything to office presentations to backyard BBQ football games your mind is the limit with this projector.
Pros:
-awesome 1080 picture quality
-built in speaker
-ability to install on a ceiling
-Quiet cooling fan
-Versatility
Cons:
-Lack of a optical jack

Connecting this Epson Home Cinema 2150 Projector is a breeze, with one VGA connection, two HDMI connections, and a Wireless connection to choose from. I tested it out using a small screen and really thought the setup was super easy, with zoom and focal rings that are easy to find and adjust and a keystone slide switch making it super easy to correct any skew you may have in your projection. The brightness and clarity is incredible. It has an option to mirror cast, so you can actually cast your phone screen. I'm not sure when I would use it but thought it was neat. I can't wait to use this unit for some outdoor movies.

I purchased this projector to use with a 144” outdoor movie screen to use at our lakehouse with family and friends. We have used it several times and it has been awesome! The image is very bright. We can begin movies at dusk while there is still evening light with no issues. Video setup is very easy and straightforward to quickly establish a perfectly sized image against the screen. The speaker is adequate for indoor applications; however, since we use it outside it’s nice to have the audio out jack. I connect it to a Bose SoundTouch Player to achieve a full, rich audio experience. I have owned several high end projectors for our indoor dedicated theater that do not perform any better than this much more economical projector. Therefore, whether your application is an indoor dedicated theater or a backyard “moovie” night you won’t find a better projector at this price point.

When my Samsung 55 inch tv died I wanted something that I could still watch my 3D movies. Since 3D is unavailable on most if not all of the new 4k tv's I decided to give a projector a chance and I am so glad I did.
The Epson 2150 far exceeded my expectations. The only thing I knew about Epson is that they made good printers about 20-30 years ago. They have come a very long way since then.
Set-up :
It is so easy to set this up. The controls are easy to understand and it took about 5 minutes before I had a great picture.
Picture :
The first thing I noticed was how bright this projector is. I expected to only be able to use this at night but when setting it up I was blown away that it produces a really good picture even with all the lights on. The color is outstanding and it produces a very sharp picture.
Screen : I wasn't sure if I was going to keep this projector so I hung up a white sheet just to test the unit. I was so blown away I ordered a nice 120 inch screen. I purchased one on a tripod so I could move it if I wanted to. The picture was even better on a nice screen.
Fan noise :
When in economy mode the fan is so impressively quiet. When watching a 3D movie it can not be in econ mode but while fan noise is noticeable it is not annoying.
Speaker :
It has an internal speaker but unless you're using it for a power point presentation you need some sort of external system. I tested it with both a soundbar and running it through an Amp and both worked perfectly.
3D :
Setup was super easy however, my Samsung glasses will not work. This is due to Samsung's pairing process so I have ordered new glasses and will update this review after further testing.
Conclusion :
I wish I bought this a year ago. I could not be more impressed by this projector it's brighter than projecters in the 2 to 5k price range. I didn't want to spend over $3000 to get a 4k projector and with how good the picture is I'm not worried about 4k. If you're thinking about getting a projector this is best you can get for the price and is arguably better than much more expensive units. This is one purchase you will not regret.

i just finished building my dedicated home theater space and was dead-set on buying the epson 5040ub. i stumbled upon the 2150 and saw that it had just come out and was also on sale. i figured why not? best buy has no hassle returns for 14 days, so there wasn't anything to lose. installation was a breeze, and WOW the picture quality is insanely good. i use this in a 100% light controlled basement room throwing the image onto a silver ticket 110" "grey" screen with a 1.0 gain. i watch most content in eco-mode but for special movies that warrant being a bit brighter like hollywood blockbusters i'll turn the lamp on full-power. there is a slight difference but most of the time i just leave it in eco.
i think epson shot themselves in the foot with this projector. i was planning on needing to spend upwards of $3000 and i got away with spending a fraction of that, and with replacement lamps at only $49 directly from epson (i already picked one up just to be safe) i don't need to worry about "burning lamp hours" with mediocre content or when you leave the projector running for a while unattended. i love it!
i could go on at length but if you're looking for as much value as possible for dollar spent, this is the right projector for you.

I've used many projectors for work over the years. I've never used anything like this.
The unit is packaged so nicely and carefully as to prevent damage, but also that you can re-pack it if you ever had to....a first in these many years!
Opening up the box, you'll find a power cord, the projector, a remote control, batteries for the remote, and a users guide. I powered it up and started looking around in the menu. I was astounded at the number of things you can do with this projector. Amazing!
DId you know this can reside on your WIFI network, that you can download the app, scan a QR code that appears on the projector's image, then connect painlessly? You can be a moderator on the app, and share your mobile device's screen - you can do pics, docs, etc. So, no computer needed.
You can also plug in a USB memory stick that has a slideshow on it and start playing it, without the need for a computer. I'm amazed at the processing power of this machine.
Of course there are many ports, including HDMI ports that are common today. Lots of ways to connect to this.
The picture projected up onto the wall is nothing less than amazing. It is a high quality, no pixel, not washed out image. It is something that until you see it in person that you can believe. The image is bright, dense, and not washed out nor pixelated. It is unlike anything I've ever seen.
This will work great for not only work presentations, but also for watching movies at home, and I've even now considered getting one of those blow up screens to play movies in the yard.
In all of my years of life experience, I would never have considered having a projector for home use, until now. Whether it is a video game, or one of the wildlife shows I enjoy watching, or even an animated movie for the kids, this can fit into all of those situations.
Years ago, these were thousands of dollars, with a washed out image, and big blocky pixels. Now, for less than the price of a nice big screen TV, I can project bigger, and better. Again once you see it, you'll appreciate it.
Remember Best Buy as an awesome return policy, but you won't need it, what you'll need is someone to help decide who gets to use it for their purposes (shows vs. video games vs. movies).

This the best home projector I believe and I am so very pleases with picture quality. I've used this projector on a bare knock down texture walls as well as using a screen and I couldn't have asked for more. I love watching everything from sports to movies and even playing online games and its the best. I love that you can mirror/screen cast from other devices easily or you can use HDMI. This projector has Bluetooth and can connect to my older home sound system easy and watching movies with the volume raised up feels like I'm actually at the movies. I can not express enough how clear the picture is, I'd buy this product 1000x more. Definitely recommend and you will not be disappointed.
