There are better options, but I'm happy with mine

Great projector. I'd have been happier if it was native 4K instead of "faux-K", but honestly it looks pretty good. It is very flexible with placement, having both horizontal and vertical lens shift. It also has motorized zoom and focus and the ability to store the lens position which is nice if you intend to run a 2.35:1 screen so you can move between ratios. Though I'll warn you it's a PITA to get the memory setup. Once it's done though, works pretty well. I've had the projector for a few years now, bought it at York PA Best Buy. Honestly, if I was going to spend $3000 again with today's options, as much as I loved this unit I'd probably skip it and get a laser model instead. I've seen some brightness fluctations in my bulb (usually a little pulsating after initial power up that go away in a few minutes) and it does dim a bit after putting a few thousand hours on it. It's pretty funny when you pop a fresh bulb in - next time you turn it on and have a white screen, it burns your eyeballs it's so bright lol. The dimness is so gradual you don't really notice it that much and it always wows me just how bright this unit is with a fresh bulb. To that end, it does pretty well with ambient light, esp on a higher gain screen. No front projector does "good" with ambient light, but I was able to have directional lights on to eat dinner whilst watching this without major issues. I'm a bit annoyed though that my baby is currently in a box waiting for me to ship to Massachusetts for repair. One day it cut off in the middle of a movie with the lights blinking. Now it won't even turn on. Gotta send it in for repair. They're estimating ~$200 to fix it. Even though the 5050UB is getting a little long in the tooth, I'm still willing to put $350 into her ($150 to ship.. ouch!). I bought it on 3/3/20, so I got about four and a half years out of her before she died so I can't really complain. TL;DR: It's a good projector, but if you're gonna commit $3000 to a PJ you're better off saving a little longer and getting a newer, native 4K laser unit or checking the used market. If you can snag one of these for 1500-1800 used, that's a great deal.

Works great with HD, DVD, Blueray, 4k, even looks really good with 720p cable. I have a dedicated theater with 120" screen (silver ticket 1.0 gain) and two rows of seating. About 12' is as close to this screen size as I would recommend, my front row is 14' to eyes. With a dedicated theater I use mainly in eco, have increased power only a couple times with dark HDR movies. HBO Max, Netflix, Disney, Hulu all work well. There are some good starting settings on line that I used as a start point only making slight adjustments. The Qualgear single joist mount worked well for my drop ceiling. The zoom, focus, lens shift are easy to adjust and I would say this is very quiet. There are some basic models for about half the price but not as good of picture and lack these features so if you have the ability I would recommend this projector.

Worth it , lumens and contrast ratio is the best

This is the best projector what money can buy. You will get cheaper as well however the contrast ratio on this one is the best. I'd recommend to invest in screen as well. The blacks level is next level.

    Beware of Epson Projector longevity

Be careful buying an Epson if you think it is an investment that will last and be supported over time. We bought a high end Epson and within months, the bulb stopped working so we used the "free bulb" included in the box...don't make the same mistake we did. Now after 10 years with less that 250 hours on the projector with bulb issues, we had it "serviced" at an Epson service center and they said main board is bad. Main board has been discontinued and MSRP on the main board replacement part is $2174! WOW! Imagine the cost of removing this from a home theater setup and getting the techs back out to reinstall and reprogram a new projector. Not worth it.
