Perfect HD Home Theater Projector!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We recently (11/18/12) replaced our Epson EX70 model projector for our theater room and I must say, the Epson 3020 is EXACTLY what we were looking for. Please know that we do ZERO gaming on this TV so we can't speak to anything about that. We do however watch A LOT of Blu-ray movies and sporting events. The previous projector (Epson EX70) was really good for the price when watching with very low ambient light. When light was present it was not good at all however. The Epson 3020 can let in a lot of light and still maintain an excellent picture both for Blu-ray and sports. We have a 43" plasma TV next to our 120" projection screen and the projector is of equal quality. The plasma is new technology too, we just bought the Samsung last Summer so that should speak to the projector quality. The one thing I will say, we don't have a projector screen, we use the High Contrast product through www.goosystems.com which has worked very well so far. I'm being told that it takes 2-3 months to completely cure which will only improve the image so I can't wait to see what it looks like then!! The split screen option, 3D, free pair of glasses and great input options are all bonuses on the Epson 3020 because it truly is the perfect home theater projector for someone who doesn't want to spend in excess of $5k.....even then, I'm not sure those people will have that much of a better picture!

Epson hit a Home Run
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this projector now for about 3 months and use it often. I was worried (despite the excellent reviews) about the difference in the contrast ratio between this model and the 5020 (would I still be able to get a good picture in dark scenes?) but at the same time I didn't want to spend the extra money on the higher end model........I am so glad I didn't. The picture is crisp and clear even in dark scenes and the brightness is amazing. You will have no trouble watching this projector with a light or even two on. I have it mounted about 14ft away from my cinewhite 120" fixed projector screen. I was really impressed with the flexibility of where I could place it and couldn't be happier. If you're in my position and want a quality projector but don't want to break the bank, then I highly recommend this projector.

Choose 3LCD for no rainbow effect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I first got the Optoma HD28DSE DLP that has more lumens and less contract ratio with DARBEE chip, the brigthess on that projector was fantastic and the sharpness too but the rainbow effect was making me dizzi. With this projector I don't get the rainbow effect & more contrast ratio.

Movie Theater Quality - Spend the extra
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking at the 3020 and the model beneath which is almost half the cost. The cheaper one was out of stock so i took the plunge thanks to recommendation from magnolia associate that said the color on the 3020 is way more noticeable - particularly when projecting on a white DaLite screen. The epson rep had demo'd the different models and the picture quality jump is VERY noticeable. Got it home and was blown away. yes, played Star Wars on BluRay and the level of detail was incredible. Can't wait to watch a 3D movie tonight. Buy the extended service - it's less than the replacement bulb - and it's 4 years.

Best projector ever for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for 1.5 years now. I love it. First things first. the 3D is out of this world on a nice 1.1-1.2 gain screen 120in-150in. I bought the PS3 3D glasses and they work good for about $20. I like them better than the epson ones myself but some of my family disagrees. the color is very good with a high contrast ratio. 2200 lumens is perfect with a nice screen. I have this next to a fireplace with no issues seeing it or even issues with the 3D. I expected some 3D issues with the fire due to the IR light from the flickering fire but nope! It works fine. My setup was 120in and I upgraded to a 150in screen (not that is was necessary but bigger is always better). It is important to note I had a perfectly good projector before this upgrade and only got it to upgrade to the 3D. the one down side is that it will not do 2D to 3D conversion. Not that I ever use that on my 3D tv in the other room! I use a PS3 for my 3D bluray player and it works great! I've even streamed 3D online through it. My suggestion is a nice surround sound, PS3 or PS4 and a screen. and a mount too.

Excellent Projector to replace Professional Grade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Hitachi projector finally quit after 10 years, and I knew there were a lot of options now and the lower end projectors had come a long way. This Epson is fantastic, so far. The picture is great, easy to setup. I did have to order a ceiling mount since my original mount for my Hitachi did not fit. However, I ordered the same brand, and I was able to reuse the actual base attached to the ceiling so that made it even easier. This projector is a third of the price I paid for the Hitachi, so I am very happy right now. Check back with me in ten years!

failed product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product was great but then after 2 days of use with a total of 4 hours. The machine turned off randomly and then out of no where a huge magenta line came running down the side of the screen.

Real home cinema
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful color & plenty bright. 3D works well & has options to tweek if needed. Light fan noise but by no means loud even when sitting feet from unit. - You will be pleased with this projector. Only downside as with pretty much all Procters is costly bulb replacement.

Excellent Projector
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Use this in our home theatre with a 92" screen. The picture quality is absolutely excellent. We keep it on Eco mode, as it is a bit quieter and extends the bulb life. Great for movie watching, sports, or general tv watching. The 3D on it is incredible, looks as if you could walk right in the screen! The 3D on it is even better than our 60" Samsung 3D 4K tv. Also, the projector comes with two pairs of glasses, but the cheaper Samsung active 3D glasses also work with it. Would not hesitate to recommend. Only advise, use a decent quality screen, as this can make a huge difference in picture quality. Also, get a sturdy mount, not a cheap one, as the projector is quite expensive.

OMG!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to watch the Super Bowl this year and had to get rid of my Samsung 70'in screen due to moving from California to Colorado. I had been looking for a replacement and convinced my wife it would be cheaper to just go with a Projector and Screen. I spend 2 months looking at reviews and kept seeing the Epson was one of the best reviewed products. So I wanted to get the 5030, but saw all the reviews of the 3020 and told my wife I was going to get the 3020 and if it wasn't good enough, I would get the 5030. Well All I can say is OMG!!. I was not prepared to see such a quality sharp picture out of the box. I have my unit 11 ft from the screen and projecting to a 110 in screen #Elite Cine Grey HD5#. The screen was $521.00 on Amazon and its awesome with this projector. So do the math. I have spent just over $2k and I have a 110 HD quality picture. Cant get any better than that. Don't delay, your home theater awaits. Wife and I are going to watch Enders Game this evening and all I can say is wish you could see what I'm seeing now.

More than I expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much more than I expected, it is crystal clear on my 100 inch screen. Depth of color is amazing, just perfect. I compared it to machines costing 3 times as much, and I see very little differences, This performs as well or better than the top of the line projectors that literally cost 3 times as much. You will need a LONG HDMI cable, and unfortunately Best Buy is not the best price, shop around for that.

Great buy!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first venture into projectors and I must say I am so happy! It is much quieter than I expected. The pictures are excellent. I am so glad I ponied up the extra $600 to get this instead of the lower Epson model. This is a great buy.

Amazing projector for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to say that I never write reviews... I am opting to this time because we looked months for a projector and the only one we were able to watch was the Epson 5020 (next model up from this) on display at Best Buy. Also when talking to a lot of people including EVERY sales rep at Best Buy no one was very knowledgable about their projectors and always tried to pursued us on buying a larger screen TV instead of the projector. So I want to say that we did fall in love with the projector on display however it was 1,000 dollars more than this one. We were very nervous about purchasing a projector and not know the quality. Reviews for this one was great with the exception of some complaints on fan noise.... Happy to report we hear nothing!!!!!! Picture.... Amazing!!!! (We just bought a little over 2 weeks ago and have watched every day since) we have not installed a screen yet becuz we wanted to get it mounted and find what distant gave us the best picture size for screen size needed.... At this point we don't even need to rush to buy the screen... Beige colored wall and 124" inch screen is perfect picture! Blacks are black and color is vivid and bright! I'm amazed at the quality with out the screen! We also have factory settings out of the box with maybe less than a minute of adjusting and it's perfect! 2D to 3D conversion is great on sports, video games, and cartoons. It's really great on Blue Ray non 3D movies and OH MY AMAZING WHEN U ADD A TRUE 3D MOVIE!!!! (Better than movie theater 3D). We have done our research and found a lot of good reviews on projectors in this price range and we went with this one because we really liked the upgraded model Epson 50/20 but didn't want to spend the extra 1,000 and with a 15 day return policy we decided that if we didn't like it (or if fan was to loud) we could return it... It's not going anywheres!!!! We are hooked! We watch it every night and we are gonna go broke and fat renting movies every night!!

Excellent product for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to buy a bigger TV but after reading reviews bought this product . I was pleasantly surprised to see the performance even when the room is not totally dark. I went for a generic ceiling mount ( use M4 screws)and it covers almost whole of the front wall of the basement. Settings are easy and remote is handy. To complement the picture size and quality , one has to add a sound bar or home theatre .I have connected it with x box thru HDMI cable and to a 7 channel receiver using an optical sound cable

No more Plasma or LED 4 Me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been reading reviews for projectors almost nightly for three months and considering a projector for two years. Technology has caught up with price. I have a nice dark man cave and have been spending lots of $$$$ on bigger and bigger TV's. 90" sounds great, but price and performance are negatives. I finally decided to buy a projector and honestly had a tough time deciding between the Epson 3020 and 5030. From numerous reviews, it made little sense to me to go with another brand. I made my decision to go with the 3020 based on the reviews and with Best Buys return policy; I could exchange the 3020 for the 5030 if unhappy. So, I set it up today and watched two movies and a recording of the Olympics opening ceremony. I am fairly technical; however, the 3020 did not require any of my technical skills. It was a breeze to setup and looked fantastic out of the box. At this point I don't see a need to spend an additional $1000 to upgrade to the 5030. I am VERY picky. The 3020 has impressed me and has me longing for my next viewing experience. I purchased an economical white screen and can not imagine a gray or any other expensive screen making the picture look any better especially for the price. If you have space for a screen and can control your lighting, stop looking and get an Epson 3020 soon. You won't regret anything except that you waited so long to pull the trigger.

Great 1080p 3D
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit shows awsome 3D. There are 3d videos on u-tube and on one it looks like the wrench he is holding will hit you in the face. I think if best buy set this up at their store, they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock. I love it. P.S. The 2d to 3d conversion works very good too.

Great 3D projector for those who want to stay home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a great projector for the price. I have wanted to make a true home theater experience for a while and this was the crowning touch. At only 13 feet away from my screen I have a 113" screen that is spectacular to watch. When watching 3d movies it is a great picture and looks better than it does at the theaters. I don't know how the speakers are on the projector as I use my 7.2 surround sound to get the complete experience. The only complaint I have had is you can't change the aspect ratio on images that are sent via HDMI cables. This can be very frustrating when watching older movies that are not in Widescreen and you want to fill the whole screen. I tried the 2d to 3d converter on some tv channels and it was not that great, but than again they were not original recorded in 3d. Everyone who has came and watched something on it all conclude with they want one. Even my brother who adamant about TV's having a better picture. All in all I would definitely recommend this projector to anyone who wants the complete home experience experience.

Great Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a projector before the HDTV took over and I loved it and it died. The HDTV projector was always out of my reach and I longed to go back to that for movie viewing. I picked up this model and absolutly love it. The quality of picture is so good that I pulled up my 108" screen to see what it looks like on my light brown wall. PHENOMINAL even on a brown wall. MY kids wont even watch it on the big screen, they want the screen 10' on the brown wall. I would recomend this 100%. The 3d is great, love it and it has brought the family together once again for movie night. If your thinking of trying a projector or upgrading this is a winner in my books. #Have not tried the PS3 on it yet but sure Black Ops 2 in 3d at 10' will look great. :#
