Great Projector
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good projector that is easy to use. Set up was simple, but it's lacking a few features for the price. Remains a good value for the price.

Great picture and 3D effects.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this projector for my home theater system. I couldn't be more pleased with the Epson 5030UB projector. The projector is big, but it packs a punch. The picture quality is better than my HDTV's. I am really impressed with the 3D picture quality. The glasses are very simple to sync, and the picture gives you depth perception beyond anything I have experienced at a movie theater. I paired the projector with a Panasonic Blu-Ray player, Yamaha AV677 receiver and Elite 100" projector screen. This projector delivers a lot better picture quality compared to the movie theaters and better than most HDTV's. Very impressed and would definitely recommend this product.

The Best Projector in this price range
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 3rd projector and 2nd Epson, I am impressed with the rich colors and picture, It is a vast improvement over my Epson 8100, which was still shining beautiful, I have the 5030UB in a living room setting for everyday use, HDTV, Streaming and DVD's. I sit about 14 feet away from 100in 16.9 screen. Projector is directly overhead 15ft away. Its only been a week, so ill updated this in a month. A little noisy without picture sound.

Awesome projector for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first time that I purchased a projector. So, I asked around and did some research and found that Epson had a great reputation. When I finally decided on the 5030UB I was already expecting great things. When I set up our theater and turned it on, I was blown away. Not only did it exceed my expectations, it surpassed them by a long shot. Great picture, bright bulb, easy to set up and looks esthetically pleasing. Can't say enough!

excellent projector for first time user
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first projector i have ever purchased,I would recommend you do as much research before making this kind of purchase,Right out the box it was easy to use,My family normally has very little interest when i make these type of purchases,My kids are grown so I can't tell you the last time we watched a movie together,So when I had every thing set up I invited my two daughters over along with their husbands,To watch avatar OMG now we have movie nite at least once every other week,If you plan on getting extra 3D glasses go to amazon,And look up the ultimate 3D heaven glasses they're way cheaper than the epson glasses,At 30$ dollars a pair and with just one push of a button they will automatically sync up with your projector

This Projector rivals 10k projectors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent at least 6 months researching projectors to see whom can do what for the price. I was about to buy the 5020 when the 5030 was released in November. It went up to 600k to 1 contrast, which blew the competition away when reviewing the projector people, and central websites that detail specs side by side. After talking in depth to the online sellers, they noted this is one of the first projectors they dont push higher quality screens due the incredible blacks it can produce. I ended up with a 135" screen that was only 200 bucks, and its been amazing. I wanted to wait a year before posting anything since we all know how items seem to work well for a few months then it goes out or has issues. I do highly suggest using bestbuy or someone similar to buy these projectors where you have a return policy, even at the 15 days. I have a local best buy so figured worst case, Ild drive it back for a refund. Not one of the best buys nor any projector store on the west end of North Carolina had a room set up to look at all the projectors running to see the difference, Ild say mainly due to bulb cost. The only thing I didnt understand nor the techs is why the alignment is more difficult when placed upside down. Upright this thing is nearly perfect in its ratios, but when you flip it you have to adjust it into the blacks to get that perfect aspect ratio to align top to bottom.

Great Picutre
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as part of a home movie theater I was putting in my basement. This was my first projector and was not sure what features I needed to look for. I viewed the picture of this Epson projector and the Sony. In my opinion the Epson was much brighter. Considering 3D is known for sometimes having a dark picture this projector show 3D movies very bright with great color. I can't say enough about it.Im very happy with my purchase and the help at best buy!

Best Projector under $3000
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This baby is quiet, sharp, and bright. Contrast is amazing, even in 3D mode. We have a 133" white screen, at a 19' throw and the picture is perfect. We also rear project it on a 140" outdoor movie screen during the summer. The party is always at our house!

amazing projector for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first projector so take this for what it is worth. LOVE this projector on a 120" screen! HD and 3D look amazing! When my wife first saw the picture she literally shrieked out "Holy Cow" because she was not expecting it to look so good. SD signals are acceptable, but on that big of a screen they start to show a little blocking. Black levels and contrast are amazing and on par with much, much more expensive projectors. I have it in a mostly light controlled room, but even when I turn lights on the picture is still viewable, but of course gets more and more washed out with more and more light. If you want to go bigger than the standard "bigscreen" tv, this projector definitely delivers at a much better price. I have mine installed on a high shelf at the back of the room so I cannot speak to mounting.

Beyond my expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at this projector in the store two different times. It was an ok picture but I got the feeling that my Panasonic Vierra had a superior picture. I was wrong. My projector is in a stand alone media room and it is totally out of this world. I had a few problems trying to figure out how to zero the picture in but I broke finally figured it out and it is amazing. I flipped around and watched everything from football games golf to Palladia to Showtime, the picture was simply amazing. I haven't even plugged in a BluRay but I know that will blow my doors off. You won't be disappointed.

Amazing Projector
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to upgrade from my Epson 2030 to something with a little more power. I looked at JVC 4k projectors, but was worried about the gaming lag. My search then ended up between the Sony vpl-40es and the Epson 5030ub. I ended up going with the Epson since I already had 4 pairs of 3D compatible glasses. (ps: the samsung glasses are compatible with Epson projectors) Out of the box this projector showed some improvements over my previous projector, but it wasn't anything that I would call a major upgrade. Once I calibrated using the Disney Wow disc the picture improved dramatically. I can honestly say that the picture is comparable or better than any 1080p HDTV. My wife thought it looked better than the 4K TVs she saw at the store. Her only complaint was that the picture was too bright and clear! I calibrated on living room and THX modes. I use living room mode most of the time, but will switch to THX mode when watching shows with my wife at night. THX is darker than the other modes and I would only recommend using it at night and in a completely dark room. Some people have complained about the noise with the Epson projectors, but there is an easy way to turn it off. I just switched to ECO mode under the settings menu and there is virtually no sound. The only time I ever hear the fan is in 3D mode. There is no way to change the setting to a lower output in any of the 3D modes. I guess the little fan noise is worth it because the 3D on this is amazing! Seriously, even if you have hated 3D at the theater, you need to try watching on this projector. It is the clearest and brightest 3D I have ever seen! Epson even includes 2 pairs of glasses in the box. I couldn't be happier with the decision to buy this projector. I would recommend to anyone who buys this to consider calibrating the picture. I would be happy to share my settings to anyone who is having problems.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Epson 5030UB is an awesome projector. Other projectors pale in comparison with it. I can see why Epson is at the top when it comes to projectors

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did weeks of research before making my choice and I happy I did . This is one of the best and well built designs you could ask for. This unit runs very quit and is very easy to set up I do recommend getting a screen so can see the quality of this projector. I also recommend getting the best insurance plan on this which covers a one time build replacement which pays for its self
