We purchased the Epson Wireless Projector and also had Best Buy to install. The people were nice and friendly, but it took 4 visits to get the projector installed and it's still not quite right. We also are still trying to figure out how to properly work the projector.

The Epson EX9240 is a versatile projector that has an excellent bright image/video quality, with multiple A/V inputs, and wireless connections. In addition to a built-in speaker loud enough for a large size room. Features: 4,000 lumens of color and white brightness Full HD 1080p resolution for crisp text and images Wireless Miracast 2 HDMI Ports Built-in 16w speaker Security options like a remote password (accessing the remote or basic control screen), web control password (accessing the projector over the web), moderator password(accessing the projector as a moderator), and projector keyword( prevent access to the projector, anyone, not in the room with it). Quick AV Mute button Support for Epson iProjection App Support for remote control via Web Browser PC Free Mode: Without the need for a pc, the Epson EX9240 can read some file formats from a USB stick plugged in. Some of the image files supported are JPG, BMP, GIF, and PNG. For video, you’re limited to AVI files that must be under 720p and not larger than 2GB. In PC Free Mode there are also some additional settings for playback like sort order, continuous play, screen switching time and, transition effects. A handy feature if you need to just present some images or slides without having to spend time setting up your computer. Build Quality and Design The Epson EX9240 is an all-black shiny plastic casing with smooth round edges that is style towards the business environment. Coming in at under 6lbs is light enough to carry around with the included carrying case. Buttons are easily readable due to the white text labels on the black background. It’s stylish without being over the top. Input Options The Epson EX9240 comes with x2 HDMI ports, x1 VGA Computer input, x1 composite video. You also get an x1 USB Type-A connection and Type-B USB connection. Epson made sure to include a wide variety of connections. As for the wireless connection, you get support for Miracast which is supported by most Windows 10 machines on WiFi and including a number of Android smartphones like the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The connection to my laptop via HDMI was stable with no issues. WiFi set up was easy to connect using the remote control. Epson also includes a QR option that can help you assist in setting up a WiFi connection simplifying by just pointing your smartphone camera to the QR code. I was able to test out the Miracast functionality with my smartphone and Windows 10 laptop and it was smooth with no drops in connection either. Having this functionality is a big plus since you no longer have to be tether to one location or fumbled around looking for a cable. Image/Video Quality With the resolution coming in at 1080p projected text and images are displayed razer sharp clear with vibrant colors. Powerpoint slides are projected with superb detail including content that has small text. With 4000 lumens of brightness even with a brightly lit room, the images/video did not wash out or faded away. Video quality is top-notch too. Training videos projected played back smooth with vibrant colors. Color saturation and range were excellent. Within the settings, Epson does provide some options to fine-tune the picture quality to your liking. Some of the options provided are: Color Mode: Presentation: best for color presentations in a bright room. Dynamic: provides a bright picture for bright rooms. Cinema: for movies projected in a dark room sRGB: for content that requires accurate color reproduction like photographs or flyers. Blackboard: best for presentations onto a green chalkboard. Besides the color mode options, each one allows you to individually adjust brightness, contrast, color saturation, tint, sharpness, and white balance. Advanced Settings: For the Iris, the default setting is set to auto but you can also change it to normal or high speed. Overall is a good presentation machine from slides to videos. Even though it’s not marketed as a home cinema machine it performs just as well. So, is it worth it? A resounding yes! The Epson EX9240 is all about business and it shows. From excellent image quality to password driven security features and support for Miracast. Time is money, and Epson has made sure to include a plethora of connectivity inputs to cut down on time being wasted on unnecessary troubleshooting. “Reviewers in this invitation-only program are provided products for the purpose of writing honest, unbiased reviews.”

First, want to emphasize the Epson EX9240 is a BUSINESS projector. I am using this in the office for Powerpoint presentations and Microsoft Teams calls (Zoom would be fine too). It's perfectly good for sharing a business video (training video, occasional YouTube). You could use it occasionally for Netflix in an emergency but I would not recommend it for home use. FYI, for reasons, I'm not 100% sure why, it has 2x HDMI ports. So if you need a 2x HDMI port projector, this is for you. The EX9240 is a super-smart business projector. Everything is easy and automatic picture skew is a welcome addition. Focus is manual. Like most business projectors there's an array of customization options but the main setup option you need to worry about is connecting it to your WiFi (FYI Network Confi Menu). I had no problem connecting to our corporate WiFi at 2.4Ghz but we use straight SSID connections. I'm not sure how it would work in a hotel where you do web authentication but am keen to find out once I can travel. The best thing I love about the EX9240 is the built-in Miracast. Kudos to Epson for supporting a common standard and not defaulting to Chromecast or making this an Android projector. Miracast means that you can wirelessly project by default from Windows. We have used the EX9240 wirelessly in the office the past few days and it's a game-changer. I work in software development, and the ability for us to sit socially distanced in the office and for anyone in the office to connect to the projector to share work on the wall instead of hovering around a shared screen is a blessing. Worth it for this alone. Finally, what everyone cares about for a projector is brightness. The EX9240 is rated at 4,000 lumens. I have no way of testing if that's true, but in a well-lit office (lights on) there was no issue with sharpness or image quality. It really is a great business projector. PS. I wasn't sure if I should mention this but the remote has an AV mute button. This is super useful as it turns off the projection without turning off the projector (if that makes sense). Just a neat feature which means I can stand at the front of the room, talk without the projector shining in my eyes, then move to the side without having to wait for the full power on cycle.
