Kept jamming up after a few scans returned this item

The Epson Rapid Receipt RR-70W is an incredibly portable WiFi scanner. I am in shock at just how compact it is. The scanner connects via micro USB directly to your computer, or via WiFi (Direct or on your WLAN). The USB connection is straight forward and the software you download from the Epson site was easy to setup. To connect the RR-70W to your LAN, you have to set it up on your PC. I had no issues with this even on my 2.4/5G Mesh network but FYI, the RR-70W is 2.4G WiFi only. Scanning is a treat. Like double WOW. Once it's on WiFi the Epson software automatically detects it is available and you can scan away. Saving scans as JPGs, PDFs, etc. You can also scan via WiFi from your phone. I am on iOS and the free Epson Document Scan app worked perfectly. Playing with the Epson iOS app, it also seems you can setup LAN use from the iOS app. Before I set up LAN use, I did try the direct method on my iPhone. This works, although was a bit fiddly for me. It's not a deal-breaker and would work fine on the road (and the RR-70W scanner is small enough to take anywhere). I love that it's purely a straight through the scanner. So you can scan license, ID cards, etc. I have had other scanners that output the scans at a 90degree angle which rules out hard documents. Not an issue with the Epson RR-70W. The Epson receipt scanning software is good. I personally have a lot of anxiety when I scan receipts. I had no issue but personally prefer to scan to standard PDF and let my tax accountant work it out. The PDF reader software (Kofax) is amazing and has some great options for compressing PDF files. Lastly - how fast is the RR-70W at scanning. Superfast. I churned through all my receipts and files for my accountant in minutes. Only small ask on the RR-70W it would be perfect if there were those movable document guide rails. Hard to describe, but I think you know what I mean. As it took a few scans to get used to feeding documents in straight. Not a deal-breaker for me, just FYI for anyone else. Would I buy it again? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes. I travel a lot for work and the small size, easy setup, ability to scan on my laptop or phone make this a no-brainer. Very happy.

Is a very good scaner,my boyfriend is a truck driver and he needs it when he cant come to the office.we bought the 50 but it doesnt have wifi so we couldnt make it work and finaly we gor the 79.

This portable receipt/document scanner was a Godsend in assisting with getting organized and eliminating all of the paper file storage. This item has several nice features including the option to use wirelessly, as well as, wired. Set-up is very simple, taking under 5 minutes. The battery life is decent. It takes up very little space, making it a breeze to just add to my bag when I'm on the go. Another very nice feature is that this product also includes a receipt management software for free! The only negative thing I can even say about this product is that it is not meant for large scans or bulkier items, but that small con doesn't even matter when it comes to all of the other wonderful features. All in all, I greatly recommend to anyone in need of a compact receipt/document scanner. The Epson RR-70W is an excellent portable scanner and does a great job at digitizing and organizing your invoices, receipts, and other important documents using the bundled software. The device itself is a small lightweight and decently built of plastic with no real seams you need to worry about or flexing as a point of failure. The battery is a nice thing to have allowing you to be truly portable using the Espon ScanSmart app. You can scan via the app and that is about it. In the app you are extremely limited. There is no option to crop or do anything to the scan aside from zoom in to it. There is only one-sided scanning with is really sad for this price. Before you start using this, be sure to charge it for around 3 hours and set it up using a PC first. There is a firmware update that needs to be done to bring it up to date for Firmware 1.10. I don't know if it is because the included software or what, but it is a bit overpriced for the functionality it provides. There are other scanners out there for less that offer more functionality with a battery as well. In this price point, I would also expect an SD card slot, dual sided scanning, and a more robust mobile app. The overall scan quality is ok after tweaking the settings when using the computer but the default settings are just average at best. It lacks contrast and detail but for just a quick scan of a receipt it does well. The software is where this really shines. You are provided with an Adobe Acrobat reader alternative that you can edit and create PDFs with that has no subscription fees. EpsonScan Accounting Edition does an excellent job scanning, reading data from the scan, and importing into your favorite mainstream software for accounting. Overall this is a powerful scanner with a high price tag that is extremely limited as a mobile scanner.

Difficult to connect with iMac. Unable to use internet on computer and wireless function simultaneously

The Epson RapidReceipt RR-70W is the third Epson portable scanner that I have owned. As with my other models, it does a great job for what it is designed to do. The emphasis has to be on “designed to do,” you have to set the proper expectations. This is a portable scanner designed for small jobs, receipts, credit cards etc. It is tiny and measures about 1.5 by 11 by 2 inches. It only weighs 11 ounces. That is correct – 11 ounces. If you never held an Epson mobile scanner, you will be shocked at how light it is. Set up – The instructions for set up are basic – connect the USB cable and download the software. Well, it was not as simple as that. At first, I could not get it to scan no matter what I tried. After updating the software and the firmware (about another 10 minutes,) I was up and running. The issue was nothing major but worth noting. Features – The scanner is feature rich with two-sided color scanning and easy Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi AP and USB connectivity ( no Bluetooth but who cares.) You can feed one document at a time or it has automatic feeding mode. It is not really designed to handle too many sheets at one time so it is not strong suit Battery or USB powered. Software- Receipt management software – scan directly into financial programs, easily manage receipts etc Scan to email, Dropbox, Google Drive etc. Simple and efficient. Performance – The Epson RapidReceipt RR-70W is fast for it’s size. The specs state it scans in 4 seconds, I was seeing slightly faster times than that on small documents. The scans are accurate , clear and automatically position perfectly in the software. Not one hiccup – great as always. In conclusion, the Epson RR-70W portable receipt and document scanner is a fast, well built, feature-rich and super portable device. It is priced well, the software is top notch and is probably the best on the market.

Great scanner but you have to clean it alot! If you lose the cleaning and calibration sheet you are SOL.

Alright, I have a brother scanner that is awesome but I picked this one up for the receipt function. It would not work at all with my M1 Mac. I cannot believe it and wasted my time purchasing and returning. Just avoid it; go pick up the Brother portable scanner.

I had it for 3 months, I haven't been able to make it work even 1 time. Lack of instruction. I had to dig for user guide online. Even then, i was not able to make it to work. The buttons are very confusing. The wifi connection simply doesn't work.

I cannot rate until I can actually download to get the scanner to work

I could not even get the scanner to charge. Took it to Geek Squad at my local Best Buy and they determined it was defective so I returned it.

Sales associate guarantee me this product would transfer from its scanning platform to the QuickBook platform it does not. Now I am stuck $180 in and nothing to perform what I need it too. Such a waste of money!!

The RR-70W is a super lightweight and compact scanner that is perfect for home, the office, and especially on the go. Setup is quick and easy, and everything you need to get started is included in the box. It can tethered with the included USB cable, or you can set it up with a wifi connection. It also has a built in battery so it can be used truly wirelessly. The battery is also long lasting so you can get all your work done at once. Scanning is highly accurate and crystal clear. It leaves very little room for error in scanning. To initiate a scan, you feed one- or two-sided pages into the slot on the front. Both sides of two-sided documents are scanned simultaneously, and you feed receipts, business cards, credit cards, and other narrow items at the far-left end of the slot. The Accounting Edition of the software that's included makes scanning and filing receipts quick and easy, which is a plus for those who do their own bookkeeping. This seems to be difficult to connect to my computer and has no response when being used and reset

This is a great little scanner. It is so convenient and easy to use. I know a lot of people these days don't have a all in one printer or even a flatbed scanner. But they still have the need to scan receipts or pictures or tax documents and things like that. This is so convenient to just tuck away in your drawer and pull it out when you need it. I also love that it has a battery so you don't even have to try and find a cord and fumble around with plugging it in. I found the setup to be fairly straightforward. You do need to plug it into your computer for the initial setup and to connect it to wifi. But after that, you only really need the cable when you are charging the battery. I just timed it and powering it up, having it connect to wifi, and scanning a page took just under 30 seconds. You get all the usual settings like you would on any other scanner like the different quality settings and different formats to save it to and things like that. I found the scans to be very high quality from simple receipts all the way up to photos. This is a great little scanner and I cant even think of one negative thing about it. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a small portable scanner! You'd be hard pressed to find anything better.

Read your total tech contract very carefully. Once best buy has your money you will not get it back. Only store credits.

The wireless doesn't work. I tried everything, but still connection to my wifi.

I cannot get the software to install on my Microsoft surface laptop so i need to return

This Epson RR-70W Wireless Mobile Receipt scanners compact lightweight design makes it conveniently portable & easily stored without hassle. The setup was pretty simple; it took me around 15 to 20 minutes. This wireless scanner is battery operated and is capable of scanning business cards, receipts, or full size sheets of paper quickly & accurately into my desktop. You can hand feed your documents one by one but I prefer to turn on its automatic feeding mode.
