This scanner is surprisingly efficient. I was worried at first because if the size but it's been an amazing addition to my portable work station. It is relatively quick for its size and very clear and accurate. In my opinion, it scans as well as desktop scanner and takes up significantly less space and you can take it on the go. This is a sturdy little portable scanner that will do the trick. The setup was very easy, as most plug and play devices. It is your basic portable single sheet scanner. No bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. When scanning a document, there's no need to open any programs on your computer. Plug it in, feed your page and you will hear and feel it catch your paper. Then hit the scan button, and it starts the feed and scans your document. The program automatically opens up and displays your document. I greatly appreciated the program has "quick links" to save to various programs. I was able to connect it to my Google Drive account and save directly into my Drive. This will definitely save time. Very easy to use. When I scanned multiple pages, I didn't need to click anything. I just scanned the first, and then the rest in the same manner, and it compiles all of the scans. Then I was able to save the one multi page document. Easy breezy. I would prefer the WiFi model, the ES-60W, as I feel that would be well worth the upgrade. This model must be plugged into your computer and ran through your PC, rather than being able to use an app. Overall I'd recommend it, but if the 60W is in your price range, the wireless functionality may be well worth the extra cost. I have had this Epson WorkForce ES-50 portable scanner for about a week now and I absolutely love it. I own a mobile tax business. So often times I am required to take copies of my customers identification card, social security cards and and tax paper work. Up until now I have simply just been using an app on my cellphone in order to scan my documents. But with the app I have so much more to do after the fact. But the Epson WorkForce ES-50 portable scanner is so awesome. This Epson portable scanner was so quick and easy to set. You receive very easy not only to read but also follow directions for set up. I really love the light and sleek design of this portable scanner. And the added benefit of this portable scanner not having to be powered by batteries allows me to appreciate this scanner even more. All in all this Epson WorkForce ES-50 portable scanner is great for the. The only thing that I would have loved to have with this portable scanner would be a carrying case. This portable scanner is a such a time saver for me.

Very handy and easy use. It is compact, lightweight and convenient. It is a great value forth price.

Bottom line is that this scanner is dead simple to set up and use, which no doubts mean it's much less likely to end up collecting dust in the corner. Once you've installed the software (which takes 5 minutes tops) it's literally as simple as sticking in a document and pressing one button. The scans look good and you can save documents in multiple formats, including a PDF with searchable text. Scanning multiple pages as a single document is also dead simple, which is a huge plus. Only issue I've encountered thus far is that I scanned an instruction manual that had been folded. A few of the pages did not come out perfectly square or legible - though some did. I suppose this could have happened because of the fold or perhaps the way I loaded those pages. Either way, the results were still very usable just not as crystal clear as the other pages in the document. Something I will continue to tinker with to see if I can correct in the future. But on the whole, I'm very happy with this little wand.

Epson WorkForce ES-50 Review The Epson WorkForce ES-50 has been an amazing addition to my productivity technology. Not only for my daily 9-5 work, but as an lightweight addition to my secondary source of income. I run a small maintenance and repair business on the side of my compliance job. This scanner not only allows me to quickly and seamlessly scan documents to my computer at my desk, but when I’m in the field I can even attach it to my laptop and scan everything from business cards to receipts and sketches. I have been amazed at how clear of a copy scan that I can get from this scanner. I hate having copies of bills and other documents laying around so this allows me to clear out all of the paper clutter. The Epson WorkForce ES-50 is an excellent option for an ultra portable scanner option. The small size (can easily fit into a laptop bag or be carried around separately since it weighs just over 1/2 lb. Out of the box, the Epson ES-50 feels more durable and sturdy that other scanners I've owned. I also like that it is black since white can tend to get dirty over time--especially being handled as much as this scanner would. One thing I would've seriously appreciated is an auto document feeder or sheet holder. The ES-50 is a single sheet fed scanner so you'll be required to manually insert each page. Performance wise, the ES-50 performs well for a very compact and portable scanner. However, I would've appreciated duplex scanning capabilities and some kind of automatic document feeder--even if it could be purchased as an accessory. The scanner scans a full page at about 1 page per 5-6 seconds which is pretty slow for a scanner, but it is very small and portable so it's expected that some performance would be sacrificed. Scanning quality is good and on par with other sheet fed scanners with a 600 DPI optical w/ software enhancement up to 1,200 DPI. The ES-50 comes with Epson SmartScan software which helps you make the most of your scanner. Especially important, is the ability to scan separate pages (remember, no ADF) and combine them into one document. One of the best features of the Epson ES-50 is that it doesn't require a separate power source. Simply connect the ES-50 via the included USB and your computer provides all the power necessary. This will drain your laptop faster than usual, but shouldn't be an issue unless you have a particularly large scan job. In that case, you will probably want to have your laptop plugged in. In conclusion, I think the Epson ES-50 is a good portable scanner, but it does lack some very helpful features that I wish it included like an ADF or duplex capabilities. While you may not need duplex capability each scan, you will likely need to scan more than one page almost every scan and an ADF would be very useful. For those reasons, I can't give the ES-50 more than 3.5 out of 5 stars. The setup is quite easy, but using it is a bit more difficult. I haven't figured out how to scan one multi-page document into one file on my computer. It isn't intuitive at all. But, to be fair, it may simply be that I'm not that technologically savvy. The price is great for what it does, and it scans all of our necessary documents clearly.

I am really very happy with this scanner. It was easy to install and easy to figure out how to use. It comes with a usb cord so there are no extra cords or batteries required. I like that I can quickly scan in all of my important documents and get them stored electronically. It is light weight and very portable so I can use it at home and at the office. It is scans very quickly and can accomodate longer pages, as well as, ID cards and such. This is very helpful to me! My absolute favorite feature is the nuance OCR. This feature makes it so that my documents are searchable (and editable!) so I can easily find just what I am looking for. The Workforce ES50 is an absolutely amazing little device. I needed to scan some quick documents for my son's camp and it was the easiest process I have seen in a scanner. You just load the documents and press a single button. Easy peasy. Even the software allows for quick and easy storage of documents! As a Real Estate Agent, I need to be able to take my work with me at all times. The size of the scanner allow you to stick it in your bag with your laptop and carry it everywhere. It is a simple plug in and you are ready to scan. I would absolutely recommend this useful device to anyone I come across. received my scanner about a week ago, I was a little intimidated about setting it up, but when I opened the box I saw that it would be pretty easy as there was only 3 instructions to follow, it was very simple. All I had to do was plug it into my PC and download the drivers. In about 5 minutes I was scanning! It gives me options on where I want to save the documents. The scanned documents were very good quality. It works just as good as my large all in one, scanner, copier! It takes up no space on my already cluttered desk! I am so happy to have the Epson portable scanner to help with my regular job and my Freelancer work. I have to scan my documents and send them to my boss. The scanner is convenient to use in my car on my laptop so I don't have to take any work home. I also love the multiple page feeder tool. I had no problem with this feature. The Epson portable scanner features are easy to use. I had no problems hooking the scanner up to my computer. The scanner is lightweight and visually appealing with it's sleek look. Love this scanner. It is wonderful to use as your posting bills and need to have copies of them in your books.

I found this scanner to be very lightweight. It was easy to bring with you/transport around. It was easy to use. It scans full size documents and also plastic like drivers licenses and identification cards. It was a slow process only when having multiple documents to scan through since you had to feed one document at a time. Also it would’ve been nice for it to have come with a carry case or protector case. You have to connect to their website over the internet to download the software which takes a while. However that's just a minor inconvenience. It was pretty easy to get set up and working and it does what it's supposed to do. A nice little compact and portable scanner at a great price, if you just need to scan a few pages occasionally I highly recommend this instead of buying a bulkier and more expensive scanner.

This little scanner is so much easy to use, all you need to do is unpack and plugin the usb cable. It is very light and portable, scanning speed is fast with high quality. I did scan photo and documents, photo is acceptable quality but document is exception.
