We first saw this enroute to Cooperstown for the 2007 inductions. Our 6 year old daughter is a bit of a baseball nut and loved it. This is a good hearted film that has a story line, so much younger children might prefer "fluffier" movies. When we arrived at Cooperstown the first place she wanted to go was the Babe Ruth display. Shw knows that the movie is not reality based, but loves the idea that maybe a child helped out someone as famous as the Great Bambino.

This move has deeper meanings to it. It wasn't about a kid traveling alone. It was about overcoming anything. Produced by Christopher Reeves and his wife before their untimely deaths. They wanted to portray a message of hope and perseverance and they did so in a very entertaining way. Look beyond what you see in front of you. Life has many layers. Good for everyone to see.

This movie is a lot of fun. It is about a boy that loves baseball and his father. He might not be the best athlete or the best-looking kid, but his love and will carries him through. Great lessons for kids and without all the double entendres and "potty talk" that comes with so many of the children's movies that are coming out.

I rented this movie and it is SO depressing because a kid travels all yhe way across states ALONE.Why would he do that?Babe ruths bat was stolen and the kid travels across the country to get it!This movie should not be rated G because it can upset little children.I would recommend meet the robinsons or ratatouille.
