Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the BR Series 700W power supply's performance, price, quiet operation, and ease of installation. Many appreciate its reliability and value for the money. However, customers are negative about the non-modular design, citing challenges with cable management as a result. Some users also reported issues with coil whine and, in a few cases, premature failure of the unit.

I have bought and used many EVGA PSUs over the year but this one was probably defective. It produced a subtle but sharp whine which was resolved when I switched out with another unit. Had to return it and that means I had to undo all the cable management in the case to take it out.

This was purchased online and I received it on the 6 of July. Did not get to install it until the 20th to find it not functioning. Use my old power supply to get newly built system up and running. Now I can’t return it because it’s past 15 days. Not very happy with Best Buy right now.

Failed in less than 60 days use. Purchased during Black Friday sale (great price Best Buy, thanks!) and installed in the PC on Christmas day. Now going through an RMA process that will take over a week to complete.

Great Power supply for the last couple years, no issues, not modular but most cases today have a basement so its really not an issue but something to keep in mind

I purchased the unit because of near-local availability across town. Was glad to find out that this 700 watt unit had DC-DC technology. In geek, it uses DC-DC converters on the secondary side for generating the minor rails. In practical terms this means that when the power supply fails you don't run nearly the risk of frying other components. (Warning: not so with the 600W unit!). Alas, the sleeve bearing fan is not state of the art. Some have complained that non-modular wiring is an issue, but given the lack of a common industry wiring standard resulting in serially fried SSD drives (by experienced system integrators, no less) I count this as a feature, not some lagging indicator. Just make sure your case has adequate space and airflow, then pocket the money you just saved.

This power supply went right into my 12 year old Dell XPS 8300, everything plugged in, powered right up, and it is SO quiet!! My immediate impression is I am completely impressed!

I know that this PS is no longer being sold but I am a ham radio operator and I could not figure out what was causing RF noise on most of my radio bands until I discovered that it was this splatter box. My PC worked fine but I would not recommend it if you are trying to listen to a radio
